if we had some real leadership in Washington we would be doing much better

There are so many things that need fixin thats being iqnored that the bar is very low
100%.

Instead we have to worry about trying to "fix" other countries all over the globe.

Putting aside the humanitarian crises' from the war crimes committed by US Presidents in these wars and all of the fraud and essentially money laundering of tax payer dollars perpetrated with private contractors- just think of the trillions of dollars that were literally wasted in Afghanistan and Iraq. North of $7 trillion- probably even more- we don't have a true full account- which is also staggering.

Imagine how this country would like if it had spent that $7 trillion rebuilding this country instead of destroying others which mean nothing to us half way around the world on the other side of the globe.

There is no fixing news/journalism without removing the money/eyeballs/clicks aspect of it.

The news has to become a public work or something - a donation of time/resources maybe - anything but what it's become.  We're literally in a post-truth era now.
Agree 110%. And that's the reason why it's such sh*t today.

The wealthy can also basically buy good press with bribes- just look at Bill Gates. He's donated well over $320 million to media companies in the last decade alone. Find me one mainstream media article or news show really criticizing or even examining Bill Gates. Not sure you can do it. He basically just gets blowjobs in the press 24/7. Can't bite a hand that feeds them....

Just read that a CNN analysist blames the Will Smith incident on Trump

gotta love it

He lives in their heads 24/7
I honestly think it's all an act- they are literally dead in the ratings without him.

He was the best thing that ever happened to them, and them bashing him 24/7 and getting all the libtards, shitlibs, and "resistance" fighters riled up was basically 99% of their ratings. When they lost that- they crashed into the dirt.

It's like WWE wrestling, all fake bullsh*t- and the dumber a person is the better they do on CNN. Look at Cuomo (before the firing in disgrace) or Don Lemon. CNN's two biggest stars by far and two of the biggest morons that have ever graced television screens.

How would a person donate money to media companies?  I want to get in on this.

Can I just write a check to CNN?

In the above situation, money in news media, I think the cure would be worse than the illness.  What folks REALLY want is for the news to be covered the way THEY want it covered.  Sorry, we don't need that at all.

Agreed.
Running for congress is something people do to make a lot of money, gain some notoriety (if even just locally), and to grandstand.  It's gross.
it definitely isn't attracting the best. and it's also gross how these people become lifers. there absolutely has to be term limits on House of Reps and Senators.

Why do we pine for "term limits" when it's pretty much an impossibility?

Maybe it's a great idea, but it's not going to happen, and this Convention of the States work around could be a terrible idea.

you don't have Bill Gates money, brother. Sorry. The guy is worth around $130-140 billion. And he's got a lot more cash than virtually all of his billionaire homies, as he's been selling Microsoft stock by the truckloads for decades.

There is no way to get out of it. 90+% of all media in US in controlled by 6 mega-corporations now.

it's an impossibility because scumbags and filth like Nancy Pelosi or Joe Biden would never allow it. They want their cush jobs and power for life.

It is a great idea, and it needs to happen if we're ever going to clean this sh*t up. Congressional term limits would provide the legislative branch with fresh blood and new ideas whose primary goal is to serve the interests of their constituents during their short time in Congress- and not the interests of their corporate masters who fund their campaigns which is exactly what we have now.

Term limits on Congress are widely supported by the US population whenever they are asked/surveyed. Polls around 70%. The only serious opponents of term limits are incumbent politicians and their special interests. Hmmmm...wonder why?

Being a Senator or a Congressman was considered a public service by the founders of this country. It wasn't intended to be a career job. It's suppose to be a public service. Not a self-satisfying career job for life that scumbags use to empower and enrich themselves.

I'm not privy to the details, but yeah- I'd imagine he writes them a check or wires them the money. He's good for it. He's only got something like $60 billion in cash.....
