At this point, I doubt China much cares about subjugating Russia, they are small potatoes, but they do need their oil etc.  China plays the long game.  Anything that takes attention off China is good for them and in this case they will play both sides.

Putin stretches the truth massively with the neo-nazi stuff- but there is a very small, albeit powerful wing of that in Ukraine- and that wing was instrumental in overthrowing the democratically elected government in 2014- and the US absolutely openly supported that wing.

The real problem they have is that their government has endorsed neo-nazi groups (funded C14 programs, Azov Batallion is an official part of their national guard forces) and has failed to enforce the law and punish hate crimes committed by members of some of these groups.

You just listed exactly why China does care about subjugating Russia.  Why pay top dollar for those imports when, as Russia's sole customer, you can pay steeply discounted prices? And, eventually, just take it as your own?

China's probably surprised that Putin has been stupid enough to do this to himself, but they will most certainly take advantage of it.

that's not really subjugation. that's being smart and taking advantage of the situation. a situation which Putin created stupidly by actually launching an invasion of Ukraine.

when Putin says the government and entire country are neo-nazis - yeah, that is obviously ridiculous lies and propaganda and massive stretching of the truth.

however, Ukraine absolutely has a neo-nazi problem. And the US gov't absolutely embraced neo-nazis (like Andriy Parubiy and Oleh Tyahnybok) and neo-nazi groups (Azov Battalion) in order to overthrow a democratically elected government in Ukraine in 2014. This is just fact.

Both things can be true.
