Definitely move to Florida.  Everyone should do that.
Our Floridian friends keep telling us they need more neighbors.

I think everyone should move to Texas. Austin specifically. :)

I can just feel the tension between the masked and unmasked in the grocery stores, and I want that to end.  Can't both be ok with their choices?
Not when one's actions affects (or is believed to affect) the other.

If anyone figures out a way for people to stop judging each other, that'd be the first time.

I wear a mask at work because I have to, and that's fine.  But I haven't worn one out and about in a long time - because when I go to the grocery store or Walmart or wherever, I'm in a high-volume airspace and constantly moving around.  If I rode a bus every day, drove an Uber, or was a stripper, sure, I'd probably wear a mask a lot more.

News from Ukraine is not good, but pretty much as expected.  Slice and dice.

Pronghorn - Antilocapra americana - NatureWorks (nhpbs.org)

Really interesting mammal, to me, can run 30 mph long distances.

The pronghorn is the fastest land mammal in the Western Hemisphere, being built for maximum predator evasion through running. The top speed is dependent upon the length of time over which it is measured. It can run 35 mph for 4 mi (56 km/h for 6 km), 42 mph for 1 mi (67 km/h for 1.6 km), and 55 mph for 0.5 mi (88.5 km/h for 0.8 km).[21][26] While it is often cited as the second-fastest land animal, second only to the African cheetah,[27] it can sustain high speeds longer than cheetahs.[7] The pronghorn may have evolved its running ability to escape from now-extinct predators such as the American cheetah, since its speed greatly exceeds that of all extant North American predators.[7][28]: 318  Compared to its body size, the pronghorn has a large windpipe, heart, and lungs to allow it to take in large amounts of air when running. Additionally, pronghorn hooves have two long, cushioned, pointed toes which help absorb shock when running at high speeds.[29] They also have an extremely light bone structure and hollow hair.
Pronghorns are built for speed, not for jumping. Since their ranges are sometimes affected by sheep ranchers' fences, they can be seen going under fences, sometimes at high speed. For this reason, the Arizona Antelope Foundation and others are in the process of removing the bottom barbed wire from the fences, and/or installing a barbless bottom wire.[30]
The pronghorn has been observed to have at least 13 distinct gaits, including one reaching nearly 7.3 m (8.0 yd) per stride.[7]

Commonly seen in and around Cody WY where my folks live.  An aside, they can do some serious damage to gold courses.  They look amazing when they are hustling.

Clearly the strategy to sanction after the fact to deter Putin has failed.

Why would say Germany ignore what is in it's best interests specially after the shit show in this country. That they could sell a few overpriced vehicles to rather than getting cheap energy as opposed a nation of gridlocked politics and social upheaval that promises but could deliver very little.Unless of course we start pushing buttons.Should Russia pull off their coup then China's spine will naturally grow.Perhaps going for Taiwan, then what?Hopefully this is just Chicken Little screaming the sky is falling but appears all too real.
The Corporate's - the guys who really put us in this conundrum by sending the jobs oversees in the 1st place as they pocketed the difference.Better start manufacturing chips at least because if they don't something wicked this way comes and maybe a lot quicker than we had realized

Why would you think the shitshow in Germany is any better than here?  They have a massive mess on their hands, far worse than anything we're dealing with here, not the least of which derives from the fact that they actively chose to entrust large portions of their energy needs to the whims of a despotic dictator.

Anyway, in related news:

Well I'm suprised they certainly don't have the social upheavel and special interests tearing at the fabric of the country apart that we do .The only thing i can think of is they maybe concerned that Putin won't stay put.And the Russians appear to be keeping their people warm also so they have that going for them.

Why would you say that?  How could you believe it?  They're having weekly protests, some turning violent, over COVID measures.  Their government is warning of the "radicalization of the right" which basically means they don't want people standing up for themselves or their rights.  They want peaceful, docile little followers.

I don't know why, but it continues to surprise me when people idealize various countries, especially those in Europe, as if they don't suffer from the exact same sorts of issues we do.

There is a book everyone should read called Radical Honesty.Tell the truth regardless of the reprisals. They may have some social unrest but if you think they have the same racial unrest simmering underneath on top of that you're sadly mistaken. So factoring in finger pointing and playing the race card is A Powder Keg waiting to happen.

I love Europe, I really do.  I just know it well enough to know it's not much different than the US when it comes to political struggles and social issues.
