No, I just find this hilarious. While I've been vocally anti-Trump, I'm not exactly pro-Biden. I generally don't think he's accomplished much of anything in the last year.

I just find the fact that the date of the call was known, and now very shortly afterwards Putin is withdrawing, and NOBODY has touched that subject with a 10 foot pole. If a certain other politician had the call and within 48 hours the withdrawal was occurring, I guarantee people would be lining up to give him credit.
wouldn't have ever gotten to this point with Trump imo. Trump was at least trying to get along with Putin- even while he was imposing sanctions to block the NordStream2 pipeline (sanctions which the Biden admin lifted) and even while he was very correctly pointing out and very publicly slamming and shaming EU leaders & countries for buying Russian energy and not American energy- when America largely pays/funds their defense via NATO.

Biden was very reckless in allowing relations with Russia to deteriorate to this point and the idiots he had talking tough and leaking bs and propaganda to the media was only inflaming tensions, not cooling them.

meanwhile Canada has suspended civil rights because of the violent protesters

yeah posted about this earlier.

WILD, CRAZY, scary sh*t. It literally blows my mind what is happening in Canada right now. Canada is no longer a free country.  Not that they truly ever were- and most of the "West" isn't truly free.

Thank F**KING GOD we live in the United States. As f**ked up as we can be, as many problems as we have as a nation, and as f**ked up as the shit our CIA/State Dept./DoD/war-machine does around the world to other people- there isn't a country in the world that protects it's own citizens rights and freedoms like the good Ol' USofA. That 1st amendment and those bill of rights- the founders of this country were some SMART motherf**ckers. That's all I have to say on this topic.

LOS ANGELES, CA—In a brilliant move showing their intelligence and street smarts, both of which were definitely not acquired in the public school system, L.A.U.S.D. students dressed up as celebrities attending the Super Bowl this morning so they wouldn't have to wear a mask to school. Students donned attire making them appear to be miniature versions of Martha Stewart, Ryan Reynolds, Will Ferrell, and more big-name celebrities, hundreds of whom attended the packed football game yesterday without a mask in sight. "Sorry, teach -- you can't make me wear that," said one girl who now resembled Miley Cyrus. "I'm rich and famous and I'm above your rules." One smart student dressed up as Gavin Newsom himself, so he was allowed to wear no mask, dine indoors, and even given a private lunch party at an exclusive lunch table just for him, while everyone else had to wear masks and sit six feet apart.

There is hope for the future after all!

INGLEWOOD, CA—A who's who of LA elite, many of whom have been vocal advocates of mask mandates, appeared to be huge hypocrites on Sunday as they cheered on the Rams at Super Bowl LVI while maskless. However, they were quick to assure everyone that they had been wearing high-tech invisible masks only rich people know about.

"No, we were totally wearing masks! They're just... um, invisible. They use... um, top-secret invisibility technology only rich people know about," explained Lebron James to a tearful child who has never known a life without masks.

Lebron James, crypto-miner Matt Damon, and director Ben Affleck were just a few of the celebrities who had access to the invisible masks. Damon, who previously starred in Elysium, a film about a ruling class who doesn't share their life-saving medical equipment, was reportedly oblivious to the irony.

"Now don't forget to mask up and get vaccinated! We're all in this together," chimed in a laughing J.Lo, also wearing a high-tech invisible mask.

When asked if the invisible masks will be made available to common people, Jennifer Lopez became offended. "I put on my diamond-studded pants the same as everyone else, one leg at a time!"

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti was also in attendance and appeared to be unmasked but confirmed he didn't need a high-tech one as he can hold his breath for over four hours.

Today the CA statewide indoor mask mandate expired and isn't being extended by Newsom.

Los Angeles County is keeping theirs, though...

...not that anyone actually wore one at the Super Bowl.

Good point.

it may still happen.  The staff at the WH seems skeptical of the “ withdrawal “.  To Biden’s credit- he is not taking credit.  That’s a good sign as far as I can tell.  There are some things about him I like.    But I could say that about all of our POTUS in my lifetime.
My hot political take: Give pols mostly blame, primarily for being windbags, little credit, and believe that most great shifts in our world are not on the shoulders of those glory hogs.

yeah, I'm spent man. Lol. As much as I love visiting Europe and other parts of the world, this is the only place I would ever live.

Rest of the world isn't free. UK doesn't have freedom of the press or freedom of speech. France wields pretty heavy censorship of it's internet- and France also reguarly puts people in jail for denying the holocaust. Obviously these people are coocoo - but should they be in jail for having insane stupid opinions? Hummm...no. Australia's government (and especially it's immigration policies) have long been pretty god damn insane- people have just been catching on now bc of the crazy COVID restrictions. Canada well- you're seeing that shitshow unfold in real time.

This is the best place to be a citizen and live by a pretty wide margin if you ask me. 'MERICA. F**K YEAH!

I read that folks charged with Federal crimes rarely get bail, and the 1/6 protesters got bail over twice as frequently as the average.
