I think Putin wants all of Ukraine for Russia as was the case when they were the USSR.  After Ukraine there's Moldova to the West which has a large Russian population. Its starting to feel like a Russian Anschluss.
This is just a flat out lie based on nothing but fantasies going on in people's brains. Where the f**k do people get this crap from LOL?

Interesting question.

We know #45 was anti-war. So did Putin.

however, #45 was much better at playing chess than #46, who plays checkers.

Putin took Crimea when #44 was in charge.

Only one President since FDR has not gotten the USA into any war.
Trump deserves a lot of credit for not getting the US involved in new conflicts/wars. Part of the reason why the CIA/NSA/MIC hated the guy so much and literally tried to sabotage him at every turn. Still very chilling to see Senator Schumer go on Maddow's show before Trump's inauguration and call Trump an idiot for going after the intelligence community/deep state and publicly saying they have 6 ways to Sunday to go after you. My jaw about hit the floor when I saw that.

LOL. A real grandmaster, that one.
Say what you want about him, but he did not start wars - something few presidents in the last 4+ decades can say. He was 100x the President than the brain dead dipshit we currently have in the oval office. And it's not even remotely f**king close. Give Biden another couple years to keep f**king shit up at the astounding pace he's been going at- and people will be begging for Trump to come back.

Well, the beliefs that Ukraine and Russia had good solid relations and no violence and this wasn't ramping up while Trump was president are all false. Biden also hasn't started any new wars, and actually took dramatic steps to end a war and greatly reduce violence. I'm hopeful there will be enough anti-war sentiment from both parties to keep them from starting a new one.
The issue at the heart of everything is NATO. It's a relic of the past, and it should not exist anymore. IF the US would stop trying to expand NATO and egging Russia on - this wouldn't even be an issue. Ukraine should've never been offered membership, the US should have never gotten involved in a coup of a democratically elected Ukrainian gov't in 2014 - and the US should generally just stay the f**k out of foreign governments internal affairs. Ukraine is of no strategic interest to the United States. Literally none. Less than zero. Not our problem- does not concern us.

The hygienist, who was very pretty and nice (and told me she just broke up with her bf), asked if I had time to do a "mouth scan".  I was curious, and she was cute, so I did.

She was cuter than this lady FYI.  It was free, or so she said, and I didn't get charged anything for the visit.

I am encouraged by the Afghan withdraw. That required some real steel to make happen, because the generals were against it. Trump famously failed at it.
this isn't exactly true. Generals flat out lied to Trump on troop counts & movements and that c**nt of epic proportions Liz Cheney made it even more difficult for Trump to withdraw completely. I'll give Biden a ton of credit for finally getting out. That's maybe the only thing he's done right in his entire presidency thus far - but Trump had made a deal to get out and the deadline was already set- a deadline which Biden extended a couple times- but ultimately he pulled us out - so major props for that.

Not sure US ever gets out though if you didn't have someone like Trump just attacking the Afghanistan war publicly on an almost daily basis for years and was really pushing to get us out. Biden would've never done that on his own.

Forcing NATO into a corner isn't a smart play here, but Putin's not a military genius-- he's a bully and a thug.  So assigning reasonable strategic thinking to him doesn't make any sense.
You are underestimating this guy drastically. He's a former KGB agent. He's a ruthless, cunning SOB who is literally 1000x tougher and 1000x smarter than any of the f**king idiot politicians we have running this country. He'll out-think and out-maneuver the US on this topic, without question. And it's a battle of importance. Ukraine is of the utmost strategic importance to his country. Ukraine is literally of less than zero strategic importance to the United States. Means absolutely nothing to us, and means the world to him.

To the extent Russia massed forces on the border, it has the appearance of a threat.  Credible?  Maybe, that depends on your intel.

I don't think we have to respond militarily even to a credible threat, in all cases.
they've been amassing on the border for years. no invasion. this is much ado about nothing. they aren't going to invade. Putin isn't stupid.

STOP listening to the propaganda from US state department stenographers aka "mainstream media" and START listening to the people on the ground in Ukraine - IE the freaking PRESIDENT OF UKRAINE - who has blasted Biden and the US media for fanning the flames of war. If the guy whose country is supposedly about to be invaded and destroyed is less concerned about this issue than the US media propaganda machine - maybe we should kinda just chill the f out and STFU.

He's a bully and he's a thug.  Ruthless sure, I mean, he's yet another in a long tradition of Russian despots.

I agree with one thing though, Ukraine is a lot more important to him than it is to the US.

But it's NOT more important to him than it is to much of Europe, because they're just waiting to see who's next.

As long as we're allied with European countries, we're going to be involved in this.

Who offered Ukraine NATO membership?

When was that?

Which is precisely why many of the NATO countries don't want to back down.

We don't HAVE to do anything, but NATO by its very structure and nature is not an isolationist organization, and it's something the USA has put scores of years of investment into.  It's not easy for the US to dump its NATO allies.
LOL. NATO countries don't give a f**k about this issue. This is being entirely driven by the United States.

France effectively left NATO in the 1960s and didn't rejoin as a full-member until 2009 or 2010. A gallup poll asked French citizens if Ukraine is invaded should France come to their aid. 53% said no. Ukraine isn't a member, yet - remember.

A same poll was done with German people but asked if a NATO member was invaded should Germany come to their defense. 60+% of Germans said no. IF a member was invaded, not a proposed member. 60% said no.

The free loading Eurotrash don't give a flying f**k about NATO. It's an American invention and a relic of a past that no longer exists, and it is almost entirely funded, propped up, and controlled by the United States.

Many of our NATO allies are extremely concerned about a Russian invasion of Ukraine.  Article 5 isn't the ONLY means of action, it's just the compulsory one.

Acting like a Russian invasion of Ukraine isn't a direct threat to NATO is silly.

The discussion of whether or not the USA currently benefits from the NATO alliance, or should still belong in NATO, is something else.  But this particular threat directly involves the US, as long as we're active and willing members of NATO.
this is rich. as long as we're active and willing members of NATO? WE f**king are NATO lol.
