Oh I'm with you.  As soon as the kids are done with high school, I'm leaving the big city (suburbs) and headed for the country.

Or, some island in the Caribbean.

Jeez, if you took a little time to consider it, you might start to think that people are just people, wherever they live... We're all sorta the same, and we like to make a huge deal about minor disagreements over trivial matters out of our control.

I detest smoking. I've never tried the hippie lettuce, and it's largely related to smoking.  I know people put it into brownies, and these days gummies or whatever,  but that just seems like it's trying too hard.

If you could drink it like booze, and it actually tasted good, I'm sure I'd have tried it long ago.

I should mention that I don't personally do that. Not that I'm critical of anyone who does, but it doesn't personally give me an enjoyable experience more than 1-2 times out of 10, so I just stay away.

Oh yeah, I don't care if anyone else does it, as long as they obey the normal laws associated with DUI etc.  I think it should be legal and treated like alcohol.  It's just not my thing.

I'm so sensitive to nasty smoke smells, it actually keeps me away from a lot of outdoor concerts and festivals that I might otherwise attend.  We had the kids with us at the Indycar race in Austin a couple years ago, and we stayed for the Muse concert that night.  There was a group of 20-somethings near us that blazed up such disgusting skunkweed that my kids were getting sick to their stomach.

The kids asked us what that awful smell was and we explained exactly what was going on.  They both said they'll never, ever do drugs.  I guess we'll see but I know they hate smoking just as much as I do.
