Yes, that is their mission in a nutshell. You don't often see people breaking the law in the face of a LEO for a good reason. The question is, are they enforcing laws that you disagree with. If so, take it up with the politicians. The police enforce the laws on the books, not just the ones you agree with.

I don't know, but breaking into a home or property, stealing someone else's property or causing harm to another person without justification (self defense) is pretty straight forward. Also, I don't have to shoot someone from preventing a crime. Just the simple implication that lethal force is an option may be enough to stop the crime in question.

I sometimes wonder if the loss of this as a deterrent is how we end up in violence spirals.

In theory, if you raise your gun to a potential criminal, and they respond in kind, and they’re more willing to shoot than you, you end up with a lot of folks foolhardy enough to pull triggers. I mean, the threat of violence is super real in South Chi, but it doesn’t seem to deter as one would hope.

racists,  bigots, homophobic

Really?  I know a lot of Republicans.  None of them are racists, bigots, or homophobes.

I don't agree with a lot of their views (just as I don't agree with a lot of the views my Democrat friends hold), but I wouldn't characterize any of the ones I know, using those words.

Another guy who would no doubt advocate for thought crimes, arresting people for what they post.
I asked a question because I wanted to know an answer. If you wanna be a jerk because it’s fun, buzz off.

Or else what, you'll accuse me of having another child bride?

a partof the answer is more crime in the city hence the need for more gov protection

also more traffic on highways in city which results in the need for more traffic law enforcement
I guess my question is how much of that is just density? Like, is there more or less government per capita?

Rural areas would consume more money for certain services (mail, for example). Not to mention large numbers of small farms rely on government subsidies. I guess I’m not the most convinced.

Where do you do that? It certainly isn't here, where you enthusiastically carry water for Joe Biden of all people.
Well, if any liberals want to arrest people, I may argue with them. But the prevailing view here is yours - when it comes to other people, there is no government action too strong, and when it comes to you, any government action is tyranny. So I argue with that.

Biden crafted most of these laws that keep "people of color" behind bars.

You just played the victim and chose not to be classy.

I want to keep things civil. After a long back and forth, in which you got pretty uncivil, you informed me I was just that easy to troll. So if you want to be uncivil until someone responds in kind, you effing got it. If it hurts your feelings, well, you build the world around you. I avoided saying something gross for a whole, but you wanted to troll me into it, and eventually you did. Congrats!
