You are implying that those of us opposed to defunding the police are advocating for yet increases to police. Where has anyone made that argument?
I'm not implying any such thing. I am pointing out that police are just another way government gets people to follow the law. Really, the criminal justice system is the most intrusive part of any government. But too often it feels like they will get a pass, and people then endlessly go on about the far less intrusive government agencies. They all deserve scrutiny, and criminal law enforcement deserves the most scrutiny because they are the most intrusive. Frankly, some cities have reduced their police budgets with no impact on crime whatsoever.

Talk about overreach how bout the DOJ looking into school board meetings to arrest parents who protest

The Left absolutely loves a police state, so long as they are the ones that get to control it.

I am very comfortable with my position. I don't understand how it is "tyranny" for the Department of Justice to look at a protest and do nothing, but not tyranny if the National Guard is called in to be at the protest to provide "order." Feel free to explain it to me.
It depends upon how these things are managed.

The Biden Admin called on the FBI to get involved with parents attending school board meetings with the idea that there have been numerous instances of violence or threats of violence directed towards school board members. While there may have been a few instances, those instances are easily handled by local law enforcement and is NOT within the jurisdiction of the FBI.

It has been argued that the actual reason for directing the FBI to look into school board issues is to intimidate parents into thinking twice about voicing their concerns to their local school board less they face possible federal charges being levied against them, thus silencing a number of these parents actively getting involved in their child's education.

Calling in the National Guard to protect home and business owners from having their property vandalized or burned down by groups that have already demonstrated that they are more than willing to do such is simply aiding law enforcement with the resources available to the governor. Not too many people will vote for a governor that allowed "peaceful protesters" to burn down their cities.

The Right also loves a police state, so long as it's the other people getting policed.

Frankly I'm more scared of someone with a gun directed to order me what to do, but I guess to each their own.
So if you are in your car during a major sporting event and there is a cop directing traffic, are you scared when you see him if he has a sidearm?

Haven't seen any evidence of that at all.

That was hardly a denial, lol.

Yes, that is their mission in a nutshell. You don't often see people breaking the law in the face of a LEO for a good reason. The question is, are they enforcing laws that you disagree with. If so, take it up with the politicians. The police enforce the laws on the books, not just the ones you agree with.

Personally, I feel that the IRS is the most intrusive part of our government. They know how much I make, how much I spend and are more that willing to stick their nose into my financial affairs if they feel the need. I have yet to have a LEO come close to this in my life. But I also tend to follow the law, so there is not need for LEO's to stick their nose in my business.

But too often it feels like they will get a pass, and people then endlessly go on about the far less intrusive government agencies.
I don't know about that. With the advent of cell phone camera's, it seems to me that police are some of the most scrutinized government workers there are any more.

They all deserve scrutiny, and criminal law enforcement deserves the most scrutiny because they are the most intrusive.

Yes they all deserve scrutiny, but you seem to imply that the police deserve more. Yes there are bad cops out there and when caught, should be tried for any crimes or violations that they commit. And if convicted, should be sentenced to the fullest extent of the law. But I also feel the same about ANY one that receives a pay check from the government.

Frankly, some cities have reduced their police budgets with no impact on crime whatsoever.
Name one.

I didn't know that the DOY looked at intersections. You should seek help.

Most here would be arrested for their posts if Sam had anything to say about it.
