How about the rest of the vehicles
If they can market a truck at that price with those features, I presume they can market an SUV the same, and work vans, and probably cars, though the car market is not so important any more.  Trucks and SUVs are a lucrative market.  A lot of work trucks don't get driven very far in a day so range is less relevant for them.

Delivery vans?  I see huge potential there.

Who was it in here a couple years ago that was telling me Tesla was going belly up in a matter of months? Bad prediction hombre.
I told you they were running out of money and bleeding cash.

That was 2019. And about two months later, in May of that year, Tesla had a $2.7B capital raise. Which got them through it the liquidity problems they were in, and IMHO must have been BADLY necessary because they did it when their stock was ailing. You raise money when you don't need it, not when it appears to everyone in the world that you need it.

I think they desperately needed money in early 2019. I stand by that, and believe that I was proven right by the capital raise.

There are also some folks who believe things which factually are not true, probably more of those than folks who are emotional radicals.  We have some here.  They post things as facts which aren't.

Bruh, you trying to tell me again the earth isn't flat?  Don't believe you.

Gasoline and Diesel fuel keep creeping higher
you'd think the refiners and suppliers would have seen the increase in demand coming and adjusted accordingly a few months ago

It appears to be taking a while to get production back on line.  The companies basically stopped capital investing when COVID hit, it went to zero quickly.  They are regaining cash now apparently and getting stuff drilled and producing again.  It probably will be late 2021 before supply catches with demand, and demand has outstripped projections by a lot.

Land crews like I used to work for are still in a down-turn.  Lots of unemployment out there.  The price of gas factors with those jobs, but it isn't a straight line, or even a sensible shape of any sort at times.  High prices CAN mean lots of work.  But it's far from the only factor.  In a purely capitalist society companies would be free to kick it in gear the minute they sniff profit.

We don't live in a purely capitalist society.

Also matters how much we're importing.  That affects investing, production, all of it.  All the drilling we do across the country....it's still just a drop in the bucket for our consumption.  I think--I don't know--the US is probably capable of sustaining itself if we committed to it on various fronts.  But I do know that it's not, and last I was in the industry, it wasn't close.

if it's a supply issue of crude to the refineries, perhaps a pipeline would help?

so, the season has come to an end here in NW Iowa (the great white north).

The golf course closes for the season Saturday evening.  Covering the greens with tarps Sunday.

Since I'll be in Lincoln Saturday, I better get out this afternoon for one final round.
