this is great. him and his idiot brother on tv are an embarrassment to italian people. good riddance. now his idiot brother fredo should be fired and andrew indicted and arrested for his sexual assault on women and his cover-up of COVID nursing deaths.

Kind of crazy how a pervy italian governor (Andrew) and a fake italian mayor (Warren Willhelm) can together pretty much ruin the greatest city in the US all on their own. Just shows you what shitty leadership from people devoid of morality and who have zero character can destroy in just a short period of time.

what disgusts me are the people in media who are cracking jokes and looking down on the guy, when just a year ago they were singing his praises and literally blowing him on air every chance they could get.

So a couple weeks ago, my mom fell and broke her hip.

She went in and had surgery (luckily just a plate and screws rather than a hip replacement), recuperated for a couple days in the hospital, and then moved to a SNF for rehab and the rest of the recovery.

In two weeks in the SNF, she gained 40# of fluid weight, was extremely unhappy with her care, and she and my dad decided to go back to the hospital. That was Sunday.

As of yesterday I learned that she was being transferred to the ICU because the fluid wasn't properly draining and was affecting her heart, and she needs a catheter in her heart, carotid artery, and her neck in order to get the fluid drained. Without this treatment her condition would likely have been fatal within 48 hours...

Supposedly she's doing a little better this morning, and they just put the catheters in.

My wife and I are planning to fly out to Denver next week to support her in her recovery, and hoping that I won't have to fly out there within the next 24-48 because things turned south...

So... Good karma would be appreciated.

The NCAA discovered violations but overall Baylor won’t be charged with the loss of scholarships or bowl bans.
The violations occurred between 2011 and 2016, such as impermissible benefits for one football player and the use of a “predominantly female student-host program that did not align with NCAA recruiting rules.” Those violations resulted in four years probation, a $5,000 fine and many recruiting restrictions.

Also, a five-year show-cause penalty has been served to a former assistant director of football operations for refusing to cooperate with the investigation. Additionally, Baylor will be required to vacate any records that happened in which an ineligible player participated.

We get some skeeters, but nothing like those y'all have in Florida.  Or even Houston.

This is our setup, thank goodness no need for the backyard net-tent.

Very nice crib Marcus.  I will have something similar at my next place.  I actually filled in my in-ground pool 3-4 years ago because it needed more work than I was willing to spend and it was just really old overall.  But I loved having a pool.  Maybe someday when I build my new house...

Thanks!  We've enjoyed it.

It's a fantastic house for kids.  Once they move out, we'll almost certainly downsize.

I never thought I'd live in a cookie cutter McMansion in Suburbia, but I love our neighborhood, I love our neighbors, I love our schools, and I love the entire community.  It's much more close-knit than our old neighborhood in Austin proper, or any of our friends' neighborhoods who still live in Austin as well.  It reminds me of the way I grew up in the 70s/80s, with groups of kids roaming freely sunup to sundown, big block parties with ice cream socials and everything.  Halloween is a HUGE deal and everyone decorates big-time.  It's been a ton of fun.

Sounds great. Should I move there?

I've been informed that any place that isn't a coastal area in Florida is a complete shithole, so I'd say THAT'S where you want to move!

Well how else is Austin supposed to rival Dallas or Houston in size, unless a bunch of people move there?

Just have to settle for being a non-Floridian shithole, I guess.  That is our cross to bear.

In other news, @847badgerfan desperately wants more neighbors and everyone should go move in next door to him!

Bring it, so long as I get to interview everyone coming, to make sure they are suitable. ;)
