accounting won

After we moved here, the wife and I set out one morning to get our DLs moved to this state.  I had gone on line and found what we needed, it was a fair bit.  With considerable trepidation and expecting the day to be shot, we ventured downtown to the DMV, parked, went inside, took a number, and sat down to wait.  It was not overly crowded, there were maybe 30 people waiting, but they had 6 or 7 windows open and were processing people rather quickly.  We were called up after about 20 minutes and they processed us quickly and we walked out with our new DLs, 30 minutes max.  The wife was stunned, I was surprised.

She said that would have taken all day in France, and we'd probably have had to come back another time.

I was witness to a house sale in France, it is arduous, takes months, there is no single closing, it has step after step after step.  And you get taxed.

I come from a town so small the city limit signs were on the same post
They won't let me give blood anymore. The burnt orange color scares the hell out of the doctors.

Yeah, sure, maybe.

But also, the bigger the city, the bigger the opportunities for entertainment.  And fun.

I've had a lot of fun in some big cities.

I prefer "small" big cities now. No need for anything NYC, Chicago, etc.

I like Amsterdam, Florence, places like that. Under 1 million is good.

Atlanta has only a bit over half a million now.  Seems bigger.  This is a nice shot of my 'hood someone else took with a drone I suspect.  Our building is quite hidden.  The building explosion had slowed during the pandemic and now it back in full force again.  I try and keep up with new proposals, they come every few days.  Downtown is off to the right (south) and Buckhead is upper left in the distance, it's about 6-7 miles away.

2021 Ford F-150 vs. Ram 1500 and Chevrolet Silverado 1500: Back at It Again (motortrend.com)

I am amazed how much these trucks cost.  They liked the Dodge the best.

Chevy shipped us a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 done up in RST trim with the Redline Edition appearance package, with red paint on the wheels that looks suspiciously like a Dodge logo. It employs a 420-hp 6.2-liter V-8, and although we're amazed to say this about a vehicle with an as-tested price of $59,980, it's the most affordable truck here.

I paid $36K for my 2015 1500 Silverado - 12K under sticker

more bells and whistles than needed

I just wanted the leather seats and the 20 inch wheels

I like that the current Ram truck commercial shows a shot of Louie Mueller Barbecue

That one's classic.  I still make it over to Taylor for lunch maybe once per year.

I would think there should be pressure to be qualified for one's job, no?
Not if you don't want everyone trying to go to college to become more qualified
