I love the idea.  I wish I could hire them to bore a chunnel from my house to the UT Campus.

It's a bit polarizing, but I'm fine with it.  I have not seen hers except a pic.

I hated it the first time I saw it in the commercial.

In person, it looks cheap and plasticky... My in-laws just got one as well.

Well, let's see. The 3' groundwater table is something. I could go on and on. This is a terrible idea.

As soon as I saw the grill / headlights of the new Tucson, I was out.
What are some other location names that will become model names?
We've already got Montana, Santa Fe, Tucson, Sedona, Tahoe, Colorado, Durango, Tacoma,.......
.
Wasn't there a Dakota truck in the past?  Is it still a thing?
A few ideas:
the Ford Galveston - def a truck name
is there a Pueblo?
the Chevy Bahama - could be a fun convertible mini-SUV like a Sidekick
the Dodge Okefenokee - obviously an ugly car-jeep hybrid (that's oh-kee-fin-oh-kee)

The Chunnel is operational.  It's the tunnel under the English Channel, which the French call something else.

I've have been through it.

There have been a lot, including Malibu, BelAir, Biscayne, Bonneville, Lemans, misprounced of course, Pontiac had a Parisienne once ...

Corvette was a British version of a destroyer escort in WW Two, which is odd because a DE was a smaller, slower, cheaper "destroyer" built mostly for escort duty and antisub work where the high speed destroyers were not as needed.  The original Corvette was more akin to that than the current version.

Cadillac is a town in Michigan of course, as is Pontiac.  Cadillac is also French originally, as is Chevrolet, which we do pronounce the French way, but not Cadillac.  The wife called hers a Caddyac.

Mercury is a location name of course, as is Saturn.  Uranus is not yet taken.

A Jupiter could be a big-ass conversion van maybe.  Do they still produce conversion vans?

There are of course tunnels under oceans, so I imagine they have some means of managing ground water etc.

I recall touring Hoover Dam back when they had tours.  There was a lot of water seeping through the concrete (which they claimed had not completely cured yet).  Of course water will permeate through a solid at some rate and concrete is somewhat porous.

Hoover Dam is 660 feet thick at its base, 791 feet or so tall as I recall.

Most tunnels I know are bored through rock. This system will need to be designed to "float", I would think.

Concrete never stops curing.

For sure, it's a standard part of transportation between England and the mainland now.  You don't hear about it, because it's no longer being built.  It's just a set of train tracks now.  That go underwater.
