Can you be anti-social but also customer facing? Seems at odds?
I'm not incapable of it lol... I'm actually quite good at it, and in doses, I like it.

But then when I'm done being "on", I'm not the type to surround myself with tons of people for emotional sustenance.

My wife says I am friendlier with strangers than with folks we know, which I think is true, because I know I won't likely see a stranger again.

Krogers in the ATL often get nicknames.  One nearish us was called "Murder Kroger" back in the day, still is by many.

Bowling with frozen turkeys?  Cool.

That makes sense.

Still, it feels weird to be anti-social but also be able to turn it on like that. From someone who isn't all that good at flipping said switch.

Still working on trying to find that next vehicle. Now that we have made the decision to stay here full time, I don't think we need an SUV to travel with. Looking at the S class now. We'll see. They are not cheap.

Ladies like SUVs because of the higher seating position.  It's as simple as that.  The wife wanted one, slowly I nudged her away from it.  I do miss the memory seating.

Just about any new car is really good these days, there are some I don't like, like most Chryslers.  You can just about select one based on paint color.

The CTS had this small hidden compartment in the dash the wife thought was marvelous, motor activated.  And she loved the color.

I get in the GTI and the seat is raised to its upper most position.  She does like the GTI a lot.  She decided against a convertible, finally.  Not many rag tops out there now.

A front wheel drive vehicle used to have inferior handling at the limit, but that has largely been, well, lessened to the point I don't find it objectionable now.  It's still there right at the limit, they've done a marvelous job on that and turbo lag.

The daughter bought a Hyundai which would not have made the list ten years ago.  They have some nice vehicles now, including Genesis.

I would consider Genesis. My German friend has the G90 for his main car here in Florida. His other car is an AMG SL. That's a killer car.

I won't buy GM, ever, except for the company trucks, as my partners all want Chevy. I acquiesce there.

Hyundai and Kia both are making some attractive vehicles today, I'd give them a look in any niche.  Ten years back, not a chance.

The daughter leased a Tuscon 2022 model.

They lack the cache of a Mercedes or BMW of course.

I had no idea Hyundai had a luxury line. Learn something new every day.

A few years back, when we were thinking about getting my wife a passenger car, we were looking at the Kia Optima.  We really liked the way it looked and drove, and its top trim packages were pretty nice.

But she decided on a Jeep instead.

The various brands often shift about their consumer focus.  Mercedes hasn't (yet).  BMW did because most of their drivers were not driving the car any differently than they would a Honda Accord (which is a nice car IMHO).  So, BMW tuned out most of the sporty pretentions, Cadillac went the other direction, and their cars now were called "more BMW than a BMW", but without the cache.

I'm not a huge Hyundai fan particularly but I appreciate their offerings.  You get a lot of stuff for the money.

I rented a car in LV in 2005 and got "upgraded" to a top of the line Kia, it was a piece of crap.  I turned my nose up at them from that point on.

My wife had an older BMW 328i, the good one, and then a Genesis sporty coupe, G70 I think, it was pretty good, she liked it.   When it came off lease, she drove my 2005 CTS which she didn't like, the back end would break lose into understeer if the roads were wet at all.  So, I got her a 2014 CTS with AWD, that was a nice car, but she didn't like the size of it once we moved here.  That CTS however had 35 profile tires that were always getting ruined by potholes.

I dislike lower profile tires, a lot, they offer little advantage if any, just look cool, and are subject to ruination.

I actually don't even like the look of low profile tires all that much.  I prefer seeing more sidewall.

Something like this:

As soon as I saw the grill / headlights of the new Tucson, I was out.

It's a bit polarizing, but I'm fine with it.   I have not seen hers except a pic.
