Chicago police are investigating a shooting that left five people injured late Sunday in the Near West Side neighborhood.

Officers were called to the 2100 block of West Adams Street about 11:10 p.m. for a report of a drive-by shooting. A group of people had been standing outside when a gray Audi SUV with three people inside drove past and at least one of the occupants opened fire. It wasn’t immediately clear whether authorities suspected more than one shooter.

I don't know the area, but it's a simple fact that most drive by shootings are gang related and often perpetrated by blacks on blacks.  I looked up a school nearby, Dett Elementary, which is 90% black, so if someone infers the shooters and victims are black, that is a reasonable supposition, and not racist.

I know some see racism behind every tree of course.

I read 320's claim as if it had been a white shooter, the media would have said that, but because it's [likely in that neighborhood] a black shooter, that they didn't. 

I realize that's me reading into it, and not what he said, claimed, or [necessarily] inferred. But clearly OAM got the same message I did.

The POLICE are the ones who said they had no description.  It's not the media.  And as I stated, it is very likely no one saw the shooter(s).

The area appears to be mostly black, but that isn't much of a description.  It's not racist to say they were probably black.  That doesn't help find the shooter.
