I hoped, for you, that you wouldn't have to detonate the sibling relationship. 

My das is in Hospice with very limited time remaining and I surely wouldn't want to face that with an estranged sibling.

I renewed my license last summer, in the middle of the early stages of the pandemic.  They had completely changed the system, with a scheduled appointment time, all paperwork and questions completed online before arrival.  Basically all I did when I got there was take the eye test and sign my name.  In and out in maybe 8 minutes tops. It was fantastic.  I hope they keep it that way forever.
