That's great.

1/3 of adults in Arizona have a college degree.  You guys can keep pretending like this isn't a problem, but it's just a pleasant fiction.

And @847badgerfan Charlotte has 71 cheap homes?  Cool.  23,000 people moved there last year.

The willful ignorance of you guys on this topic is so severe that I don't see the point in discussing it.  I mean fucking hell.  It's as if I'm pretending there's a problem.  What a joke.

Every problem involving money isn't some invented nonsense, sorry.  I have no fucking clue why most of you act that way, but that's on you.  Just keep your head in the sand and pretend your posts negate the totality of the reality.

Ugh.
71 homes listed TODAY.

Under $300K that number moves to 383.

I think part of the issue is younger folks are generally undisciplined compared to when I was young.

Driving a beater is not an option for them.

And they have to have the latest tech — ipads, airpods, newest iPhones, subscriptions to Apple Music, Spotify, TV streaming, wi-fi, etc.  All that adds up quick.

All things I didn’t have to worry with.
Who raised them?

Oh okay.  The 23,000 new people can share those.  Problem solved.

I’m sorry OAM, but this line of thinking doesn’t make sense, and also it’s dumb AF. Did it ever occur to you that not everybody who moves there NEEDS “affordable” housing ?

And this board is like a stream. We make statements about news and other items, we comment about our personal experiences, add what we found works and doesn’t work. Why can’t you understand that this message board is in fact wildly personal, especially in an age where almost all of social media is full of fake people giving fake advice.

Yes, of course.  It's a little tonge-in-cheek.  How?  BECAUSE MOST PEOPLE WHO NEED AFFORDABLE HOUSING CAN'T AFFORD TO MOVE.

But again.  This is a complete and total waste of a conversation.  It's like a deaf person signing to a blind person.

People are moving there for good paying jobs. It's a hot spot for that now.

They are not looking for affordable housing.

They are looking at the 2900 homes available TODAY that are over $300K.

This message board is an echo chamber of bad ideas, based on bad/insignificant evidence.  The non-football talk exists for confirmation bias among mostly like-minded people.

That's a bad thing.

Getting into the stock market is a bad idea.

Stick with that one.

I would argue that you are 110% wrong. Hundreds of years ago, people who needed affordable housing got on a boat with very little to their name, sailed across vast oceans on voyages that took months, and carved a life out of nothing for themselves and their families. Most of them still endured poverty and horrific conditions, but their children, and their children’s children had it much better than any of their ancestors.

Please explain to me how people in America have no agency over their own life and can’t afford to do anything about it ?

Some would say they are quitters. Some would say they were quit on by society. The latter does exist, for a lot of reasons.

I can't help you.

I don’t need help. If you want to discuss things, give your take on things and hear a counterpoint feel free to participate. But when you don’t like the tone or direction of the conversation and just declare I’m done it doesn’t help anybody.

It's not about tone or direction.  We might as well be speaking different languages.  I don't deem any conversation we have about this remotely likely to be fruitful.  I'm not going to waste our times.
