I have no idea what a dutch rub is
Back in the day in our adolescents you'd get a buddy or a little brother in a head lock and then rub you knuckles over his head fast and hard for some reason or another. Maybe just for the hell of it

Reads like they wanted to know if you were leaving because you didn’t like working there/thought your boss was unpleasant.
Plus, sometimes people who leave can give on critiques in ways they wouldn’t have otherwise.
Yeah, something like that I guess.  I was delighted to get out, I wasn't going to say anything contrary or negative to HR.  I got a year's salary for not working and retiree benefits, which I realize today are substantial.  I "worked" about 15 minutes a week, and that was doing stuff nobody cared about but my boss (who was an OK guy, left me alone).  And he replaced me with TWO people, one had to be promoted to my level.

The other amusing thing was I was granted a retirement "party" with a decent sum of money, so I held it at my local wine bar with my friends.  My boss asked me if I wanted to invite coworkers and I just said no.  My coworkers weren't terrible people, but I didn't fraternize with them.  I had two other employees invited who I did like, and my boss said he had to come and say a few words.  I said "The fewer the better."

Anyway, my wine drinking friends got some "free wine", my buddy who ran the wine bar got some business, and of course after my boss left the party really started up.  I don't recall much after that.

It's like the Wisconsin QB on Draft Day.

Same here.  I have 3 5-gallon hunks of crap as well.  Can't wait to toss them and replace them with cans that will actually pour.

This NEWS is fantastic.

This conversation is deteriorating quickly.  I blame Nubbz.

Anyway, Nolan Ryan was 46 and Robin Ventura was 26 when the old man whipped his ass.  Ryan ended up at the bottom of the scrum and said he thought he was going to suffocate, but then a giant paw reached in and pulled him out.  It was Bo Jackson.  Classy move.

I had an old 2.5 gallon gas tank for my mower back in the day.  It was a bit odd, I don't think I've looked at the newer "much safer" ones, nor used them.

I recall convenience stores once might carry a cylinder of gas for folks who ran out down the street, had maybe a litre in it.

Baseball players, batters anyway, have a lethal device in their hands, which they summarily pitch before charging the mound.  The pitcher often has a round sphere which they can hurl at damaging speeds and that rarely gets utilized.

Yeah you can usually find a 1-gallon can at almost any gas station, for emergencies.

My dad has several genuine WW2 5.3 gallon (20L) jerry cans, they pour super easy but I can't find them.  I suspect they're buried at the back of his shed, which is terrifying.
