Games You Plan On Attending This Fall
« on: June 13, 2018, 09:38:57 AM »
Possibly Texas @ Maryland, who open their season at FedEx field where the Redskins play

My Dad is working in Idaho so that gives me excuse to see a game on the Blue Turf - maybe early Sept UConn @ Boise State

Likely Tennessee @ Auburn in mid Oct

Definitely the early November weekend combo of Colorado @ Arizona (Friday) & Utah @ Arizona State (Saturday)

And a bowl for sure

What are your guys’ early plans

I'll be going to Madison for the Nebraska game. I'm thinking about going to Northwestern and/or Purdue but nothing is set in stone for those.

I've been to NU for about 12 UW games. I've only seen one win. I might skip it.

(I've seen a UW win in every B1G stadium, except the two newbies since I haven't been)

Not sure about a bowl game or CCG.

I'm waiting on Mrs. 847 to develop her travel wishes for the Fall, other than the big one in November.

Planning on UT v OU  (Dallas).   That won out over a couple of other itineraries with my friends.  No complaints.   We are looking to wedge in either an Astros playoff game in Hou, or Rangers if somehow.... if it lines up.   Otherwise will probably pick up a High School game.  We have been invited to a UT golf outing on that Friday.

Illinois at Nebraska (Nov) as I'm in a wedding that weekend (wedding is Friday).  It will be my first Nebraska home game in over a decade. (OU game w Adrian Peterson).

I expect to go to the Big CCG since it is all of 12 miles away.

WVU vs. Tennessee in Charlotte to open the season.  Tickets purchased and hotel room booked.

The Rose Bowl to watch Purdue after they shock the world and win their highly-improbable conference championship in only the 2nd year under Brohm!

If you make it down to Houston, let me know if you would also be able to squeeze in a happy hour or dinner and I'd be glad to meet up with you and your friends!
Working on getting things together for the Utah @ ASU game, which is looking good for me right now.
For Texas, I was gonna see if they do a bundle package like they have done in the past, where you can choose 3 home games from a specific list for a set price.  If they do the mini-package this year, I may choose that and go to three games that they have for that deal.
If not, then the most likely game I go to in Austin would be vs. Baylor in Oct, or the one after Thanksgiving against Kansas.
If I am able to get tickets for the USC game at a reasonable price, I may consider that but I already have tickets to a concert that particular day, so it would be a tough decision to choose the game over the concert.
I also have been to the Houston Bowl in December for the past 3 years no matter who is playing, so it's likely I'll be there again this time.

Going to be in Nashville on September 8, so I might go check out Vandy-Nevada.

Probably not going to make it to Ann Arbor at all this fall.  Not sure when that last happened.  Off the top of my head I'm going to guess 2006, which would be the only year since 1992 I didn't attend one.

The Dallas Cowboys are playing AT the Houston Texans on the day after TX-OU, I'm thinking I might hit that one this year.  Sadly it's pretty rare for the Cowboys to play at home on the same weekend as TX-OU, on the rare occasions it has happened, I've managed both, but Houston is a pretty easy trip from Dallas on a Sunday morning, so maybe I'll do it.
For me, this year my plans are:
USC@Texas
TX-OU in Dallas
and probably ISU@Texas the weekend before TDay.

Hey Marq, if you're looking for some ideas for your TX-OU weekend in Dallas, let me know. I have plenty of recommendations (including where to get the cheapest beer on the Fairgrounds, and how to avoid long coupon lines on the Fairgrounds-- hint, order them online ahead of time. ;) ).

Hoping to get to Madison for either Nebraska or Illinois, but still weighing competing interests. Been too long since I've been to Camp Randall.

I'd never turn down a meet up with board members.   I remember from my first OU/UT game about the fairground/ticket strategies.  I doubt I will eat six corny dogs this time (too damn old now).

Since we hate NFL we're not that into Cowboys/Texans, plus it is Sunday night (gotta get home).  Though last time I did HS/OU v UT/ Cowboys v Panthers over the weekend.  The NFL was by far the least interesting experience.  IIRC both teams were 0-5.  Rodney peete sighting. I remember they ran the option one play and Emmett couldn't keep up with the pitch relationship.  the ball bounced on the turf and out of bounds.

I plan to be in Lincoln for the Buff game on Sept 8th, the Purdue game on Sept 29, Obviously the Gopher (Sharkwater) game on Oct 20, very possibly the Illinois game on Nov 10.  If the season is going better than planned and the weather is good I could find myself in Lincoln for the Sparty game on Nov 17th

I check almost daily for a room at the Hotel in Madison for the Husker game there on Oct. 6th.  I'll be there if I can reserve a room.

I'd really like to attend a Red River game in Dallas some season, since my brother has a place in Arlington this could be the year.  Might be too busy with work to make that trip.

I don't hate the NFL, I will attend two Minnesooota Viking games in Minneapolis this fall.  Don't know which games at this point, don't have my invites.
