Dawg fans on line are ... well, acting like fans, blaming all sorts of things for the loss.  It gets boring rather quickly.

Truth be told, about midway through the first quarter, I decided I didn't need the stress and watched some Netflix show, Bama had converted about 37 3rd downs in a row.  It wasn't going to end well, I was a bit surprised it ended up close.  Anyway, fire this guy and that guy, whatever nonsense ...  the blame game.  Maybe the opponent just outplayed our team.  It happens.

Ya Kirby going 1-7 vs the Tide can't help. Funny it seemed like a completely different team that lost to the 'Noles

I figure this means UVA is better than UGA.

Just think there's a lot of parity right now.

I also think that even very good teams are inconsistent from week to week, possibly because of increased roster turnover from year to year, due to the portal/NIL/free agency.  That's just speculation of course.

I dunno feels pretty awesome to me. I really have no idea who will win the championship this season, not really sure who will even end up as the major contenders. The games feel a lot more meaningful.

Being a fan of a team with a huge payroll will do that for some people. It makes some feel dirty.

There are also many of us who would like to put the "college" back in CFB.

I think most of us here are not happy with many of the recent trends especially the $$$ part.  I think the most interesting year is when 2-3 "have nots" appear to be unexpectedly good, like TCU a few years back coupled with a few unexpected upsets of majors.

What if you have a huge payroll and your team sucks?  :)

my unhappiness with college football has much more to do with the way my fav team sucks than $$$ or other issues

I dunno. The legalized theft that college football used to be also made me feel dirty. While the portal and payments have certainly changed things, parity and competition are pretty good changes for the better. Vanderbilt and Bama is a huge game this week!

Yeah I thought all the upsets on Saturday were a lot of fun.  It was a good day for Texas to have a bye week...

How do you feel about all of the graduate student researchers (making universities many many many more billions than athletics does) being rewarded with "only" a free advanced degree?

No room and board. No free trainers. No free nutritionists. No NIL. Tiny stipend (maybe).
