He means you had early onset grumpy old man syndrome.

Hell, I had that when I was a toddler, so my parents tell me.  Was probably congenital.

It's a logistics and and numbers game to me, nothing more.  If I thought, from an accounting standpoint, that the Net Present Value of an EV purchase would be less than an ICE or a hybrid, and that the infrastructure in place easily accommodated my needs, I'd likely do it.

To me there's more to it. I'm doing well enough in my life that it's not just about the lowest cost option.

People worry about charging... But to me one of the key advantages is that it can be charged at home... Imagine going 5, 8, or even 12 months never actually needing to charge it outside your home. The idea that you literally *don't* typically have to worry about where you're going to charge your car seems to be freeing.

The last time I'd have needed to charge an EV would be in March when my wife and I went to Napa. Before that, I can't even remember the prior time... Maybe last summer when we drove to Phoenix for a concert? And in a multi-vehicle household, we could have always taken a second car (ICEV) for those trips if I'd bought an EV for myself.

Not having to worry about charging actually seems like a nice little lifestyle improvement.

So long as you add a second power circuit then that makes sense.  It can take longer to charge on the existing circuit.

They repaved an ancient parking lot here in a tiny rural GA town I'm visiting, and installed 2 charging stations.

My dad says no one has seen anyone use them.  It's been over a year.

Sounds dangerously like arguing via anecdote.

I know you never do that, of course...

Just sharing.

Anecdotes can be true, but aren't great evidence.  We all know this.
