I might buy one but, I doubt it.
and it's got nuttin to do with politics
Me.
It's a logistics and and numbers game to me, nothing more. If I thought, from an accounting standpoint, that the Net Present Value of an EV purchase would be less than an ICE or a hybrid, and that the infrastructure in place easily accommodated my needs, I'd likely do it.
About two years ago, on this thread, I think, I went through a bunch of the math, estimating my driving habits, cost of gas wrt mpg and the cost of electricity. It was rough estimates to be sure, but I concluded at the time that the EV I picked for my comparison probably didn't save me much money, and would be a hassle in too many situations.
Ergo, it just didn't make sense for me.
Politics didn't even enter into my mind. Until now, when yet someone else made EVERYGODDAMNTHING about politics......sigh.
Obviously I lean right, in some areas hard right.
That's still a matter of correlation not equaling causation imo, because it's just a fact that conservative minded people
on the whole tend more to be anal number crunchers and left-leaning people
on the whole tend to value other components of the thought process. It just is what it is, and that's all that's going on here. The thought of letting a political affiliation or some politician/president who likely knows nothing about cars and even less about my financial situation influence my purchase decision is repugnant to me.
