For sure.  When you're terrible at something, it's always safest to keep your head in the sand and ignore it.
I don't have to ignore anything. UW hasn't had a baseball team since the Emperor stepped foot on campus.

As a child that played baseball in WI, it was excruciating to get a season in, hence many schools played it as a summer sport while others tried like hell in spring.    There's a reason there's been a grand total of one kid picked in the 1st round of the MLB draft from the state of WI.  Jarred Kelenic, just 3 years ago, now on Mariners thanks to Mets stupidity.

I get why UW bailed out, but that doesn't mean Barry should be pissing on it.

It's too expensive and there is no revenue attached.

You don't like it, we get it.

Perhaps there are other threads on this forum that would be more to your liking...? :)

I really like the symmetry of the college baseball tournament in its current format.  It starts with a 4-team double-elimination tournament at the regional, then moves on to a 2-team best-of-three series in the super-regional.  If you win that, you go back to a 4-team double-elimination tournament in your half of the CWS bracket, and then the entire thing is capped of by another 2-team best-of-three series to determine the ultimate national champ.

That said, there's nothing as great as the old 6-team regionals that we had before the field expanded from 48 to 64.  I can recall several regionals in Austin in the late 80s and throughout the 90s and they were just a week-long party of fans from all kinds of different teams from all over the region.  It was really great.

So what are the various scenarios by which the Wolverines can be eliminated in their Regional?

Obviously if they barf up the UConn game right out of the gate, and then suffer one of those directional Michigan losses that ELA boldly predicted, but that's too easy.

Someone needs to step up and take on the Medina role here. :098:

Arkansas is no joke.

B1G teams suck at baseball because, like football bowls, all of the regionals and super-regionals are held in the south and west.  It's not fair!  :smiley_confused1:

B1G sucks at baseball, because baseball starts when there is still snow on the ground.
