also the main offensive take I had was throwing the ball north and south instead of all the sideline passes they did last year

Yup, I liked seeing the vertical approach to the game both passing and rushing.  UTEP is a terrible, terrible team.  But I've seen Texas perform quite a bit worse in openers against other terrible teams, so there's a lot of positives to be taken from this game.

After being down 28-3 Kansas has it to 28-17 going into the 4th.  It was 28-11 and after the TD to cut to 28-17 KU went for two and missed.

What am I missing? Why go for 2 there?

I don't get it either.  Chasing points that far back and with that much time isn't a great choice IMO.

Exactly. Chip Kelly spent time on TV and he looks like a cantaloupe growing out of a suit.

Beautiful fall evening. Feels perfect outside. Had a travel tournament in Bristol today though. Got to watch about half of WVU’s game on my phone. Afterwards we ate pizza at Mellow Mushroom and I watched some of the ND game.

It felt as close to “normal” as anything has in a long time.
Now I want Mellow Mushroom, which is bad because I need to not spend more monies. Also, I enjoy that place, but it gets squeezed out of my restaurant rotation.

I had an Italian sandwich at that place and it was the worst sandwich I've ever eaten in my life.

I’ve only eaten there 2-3 times and only get the pizza but we’ve always liked it.  We got a cheesy bread appetizer that was really good, too. I think they are a chain that is mostly in the south.

There is an MM within walking distance of us, I've never had the urge to try it.  I usually avoid chains.  A few places are small chains that we like, they have 4-5 places.

I find chain restaurant food often is prepared using a lot of fat and salt to mask the fact they don't use good ingredients.

Maybe that isn't the case with McDonald's of course.

Tried it once. It was fine, but never had the inkling to return for another go around.

I usually avoid chains, and honestly have only been there a time or two (a friend's birthday lunch, I think). I found it to be in that category of "pretty good" chain food. Like if I was one a road trip and just wanted something I expected would have a high floor, I'd stop in.

But in the town I live, there's two very good local pizza places off the bat. And another that's supposed to be superb that I have yet to try. And like 2-3 more that are probably at the worst on MM's level, most likely better to smaller degrees.

But I will have no MM today. Maybe takeout, most likely not. It is an NFL day, so maybe that suckers me into something, though it also might make the places more crowded.
