What about Starbucks? When we use to go on our September fishing trips to Ontario/Quebec one of the guys driving always had to stop at Tim Hortons.Evidently his mecca for munchies there were not alot of them down here.Big disappointment IMO but the large coffee came in handy for the extended drive

At least Starbucks has a decent cup of coffee. I hate Tim Horton's coffee, I hate their donuts, and I hate their food, and they never seem to stop building new stores

Huh? Starbucks drip coffee is terrible.

Or, much more accurately, Starbucks drip coffee is completely inconsistent. Some cups are decent. Others taste so acrid and burnt you wonder what coffee gods' grave they danced on before opening that morning.

I can't speak to Tim Horton's. But I consistently get great drip coffee at either McDonald's or at Dunkin'.

I personally suspect that Starbucks caters to people who want $5 drinks but don't actually like "coffee", so they make their own drip coffee so bad that it reinforces why you need to buy the $5 drinks.

Yeah Starbucks tastes burnt to me.  Only time I ever get it is maybe in an airport where it's the only option?

We have several local coffee houses that roast their own beans and make good coffee, and also sell the beans to the public. That's where I get mine.

My wife and I were on a road trip a few years ago. There was a Starbucks in the hotel so as we left in the morning, I loaded the car while she got us a couple of cups of coffee.

It was so bad that we pulled off the freeway a few exits up to throw it away and buy McDonald's.

I'll suffer bad coffee to get my caffeine fix, but this was so bad I couldn't even do that.

Not surprised at all.

And then, there's European coffee.  Even their completely average American-style breakfast coffee, is great compared to most of what I can get here.  I have no idea why.  Maybe different species of beans over there?  I just don't know.

I like Starbucks' coffee drinks, but their regular coffee, no thanks.

I do like Tim Horton's, but honestly my favorite coffee is from Sheetz convenience stores.  Bruegger's Bagels has good coffee as well.

I've never gotten the "hey, on the downlow, McDonald's has good coffee".  I worked on a project in a small town where that was really the only option, and had to suffer through it every morning.  The absolute worst chain coffee IMO is Panera though.

I don't drink the stuff, but I grew up in a house where it was a big point. I honestly didn't know that everyone didn't grind their own until oddly late in life.

It's College Football Saturday!  Doesn't it feel like Week 1???  Are you ready to watch football all day while maybe grilling food.  The football may be a little awry, but the food should be good.  I'm cooking brisket on one grill and pork ribs on another, and the wife wanted to have a seafood boil, too, though at the last minute she said she wanted to fry seafood.  Make up your mind woman.  I bought one of Costco's variety packs of seafood - shrimp, scallops, mussels, and calamari, so whatever she wants should work out fine.

Anyways...

1 pm - Eastern Kentucky at Marshall, ESPN

1:30 - Middle Tennessee at Army, CBSSN

4:30 - SMU at Texas State, ESPN

7:30 - Houston Baptist at North Texas, ESPN3

8 pm - Arkansas St. at Memphis, ESPN

9 pm - Stephen F. Austin at UTEP, ESPN3

Hell of a slate boys.  Game of the day must be the Army game.  Army favored by 3.5, which is the smallest spread of the day, plus we get to watch the triple option.

Also, an absolute perfect day in Columbus.  It's in the fifties right now as I sit on my porch and drink some non-Tim Horton coffee.  Supposed to be sunny all day and drop back in to the fifties overnight.  We got our firewood so breaking out the firepit tonight.
