I too was an ump

he should not have made that call but why rattle the umps cage

not many good things happen when that happens

in the majors the batter whould have been tossed before that final pitch

Yeah, if it was borderline.  Generally when a ref/ump knows they made a bad call, which they usually do, giving a long leash is their apology.

Im not justifying what the ump did but I understand it

Its the last inning 2 outs and nobody on

the team at bat is down by 4 runs and the batter is giving me shit over my calls

well guess what I got a cold beer waiting for me so have a nice day

I have no attitude one way or another

a player should leave emotional theatrics at home if they disagree with an umps call

in this case Im not talking about the last pitch but the pitch just prior to it

no good ever comes from showing up the ump
