Box score looks like an excellent pitcher's duel last night.

I guess the only thing better than squeaking out a win in a tight game would've been, oh, I dunno.....watching it, but you can't, because it's on the F***ING LONGHORN NETWORK.

I get the LHN.  You sound like you have a crappy provider.

What I can't get is the BTN or the PAC network.  Not that I'd ever want to.

I think it's well-documented that LHN is a unicorn network.

As the Husker said, I could get it, for $$$.

Not that I'd ever want to.

Disney/ESPN would appreciate the donation

Lord knows they've lost their hind end on that venture

At any rate, the bayou cats pitched for 8 K's, a decent showing, but the Longhorns doubled that, issuing an outstanding 16 (!!!) K's.  Pretty good stuff for mid-week pitchers.

LSU's bats are textbook boom-or-bust so far.  Iowa and Texas virtually neutered our hitters, while in the other 6 games they shot fireworks.  Hopefully they settle in somewhere on the spectrum, because I hate these teams with wild swings (so to speak) in production.

It was never intended to make money.  It was intended to keep Texas in the B12, where ESPN wanted, until they could ultimately broker the deal that got Texas into the SEC.  Ultimately it cost them very little to maintain the landscape exactly as they wanted it.

I wish they would have simply put that "very little" in my account

but, yes most of us know all about kissin up to the Horns

I'm guessing the Horns won't have to worry about having lipstick on their arse any longer

Really?  I get BTN, SECN, P12N and ACCN, all on the standard package

Not here.  I think I could get B1G or PACN on the top paid tier but I've never really investigated it and why would I bother?

LHN and SECN are available on the same basic sports tier as ESPN/2, FS1, etc.

I don't know whether or not you'd choose to classify it as "kissing Texas' arse" but ESPN is contractually obligated to pay out the remainder of the contract.  It ran for 20 years, from 2011 to 2030, and was structured with graduated payments to increase over time from ~$10M/year in 2011 to ~$20M/year in 2030.  At this point the remainder is somewhere around $140M.  After the Horns join the SEC, the LHN will either be completely dissolved, or rolled in as an additional channel of the SECN.

I'm a streamer, and Sling is the only one I know of who carries LHN, and Sling is a no-go for many reasons.  I don't know if this varies by area, but Spectrum does not have LHN on the same tier with ESPNs/SECN, that costs extra, and the last time I had DirecTV it was the same thing....I had all the ESPNs and SECN, but LHN would've cost extra.

It's like....how bad do they not want me to watch Texas?

Do they still get the $140 Million?
