Sign me up, too. I've always found the vacated wins thing pretty silly.
I think it's silly that more wins aren't vacated :96:
I am or at least I was in agreement with @FearlessF .  If there was any semblance of integrity about the process I'd be fine with it.  I was fine with Ohio State's wins from 2010 being vacated because there was wrongdoing.  The player's wrongdoing was minimal (they sold their own stuff) but the HC knew and didn't report it and I'm ok with vacating wins for that.  Well, I WAS ok with it.  That was before I watched Auburn win an NC with the highest paid QB in CFB history (at the time) back when it was still illegal to pay players.  Everyone knew that he had been paid and yet we were all supposed to pretend it didn't happen?  Then I watched Michigan go their best three-year run in decades compliments of a massive impermissible advance-scouting operation with no vacated wins.  The NCAA even stated that there was enough there to vacate the wins but they didn't because . . . I don't know, they decided they'd rather have a big fine.  More recently I heard that Iowa either had to or might have to vacate wins because apparently somebody on Ferentz' staff talked to a kid outside the window.

If you are vacating wins over minor infractions (Iowa, Ohio State) and NOT vacating wins over major infractions (Cam Newton, Connor Stallions) then the process lacks credibility and I'm just not going to take it seriously.

I'm glad OSU's only loss in 2010 wasn't vacated.

In 2023, LSU vacated 4 years worth of wins from 2012-2015 when it determined an offensive lineman's dad was paid $180k by a booster for a no-show job (or, a 5-show job, but he was paid continuously despite only working 5 events).  It didn't help that he appeared to have embezzled the funds from a local hospital foundation the booster headed.

It's not that I don't get it.....I do.  But I hate it for the other 200-300 kids who worked and played hard during that time with no smoke or fire.  All their efforts got washed away in the school records because one kid/family/booster did shady stuff.  And I especially hate that the ordeal dropped Les Miles' lifetime win percentage below the threshold required to be considered for the HoF.  Which, as the best coach in LSU history, I was hoping he'd at least get a fair shot at.

Meanwhile the Bama kids are driving around Escalades and Auburn closes ranks, going "All In" and daring the NCAA to prove it on a guy whose dad ran his mouth too much for us all not to know they got paid.

These days, of course, all the above is fine.

Well.....not the embezzlement part.

They did the same last year. I don't care, as long as they don't increase the buyout. If they need to do so for recruiting purposes, cool. If they are offering him a single dime of additional comp, that's stupid. The win at Penn State will keep him employed for a few more weeks. If Penn State loses its next three games, @Northwestern, USC, @Michigan, and Wisconsin loses three or four of its next four, MSU, @UCLA, USC, @Iowa--particularly if Iowa kicks the snot out of the Badgers--again--Fickell may well be looking for a new job. We'll see.

I promise I'm not just hoping to be right. I'd love to be wrong. I'd love to see Fickell bring this program back from the ashes into a top team in the conference, but the wins over Washington and Illinois last season aren't much different than the win over Penn State this season. They are nice when they happen, but they haven't defined the program under him.

Yes, they are vacating Iowa wins because of premature contact with Cade McNamara. He was a good kid, but not a great football player. Rules are rules, except when they don't apply to everyone.

This is where the NCAA just completely loses credibility. Vacating wins over miniscule infractions while just waving past a massive cheating scheme and Brinks trucks rolling up to Cam Newton's dad's house.

No,really he's on a roll,he likes Madison and the powers that be like him. And the 21,38 mil. buyout that would have foolishly went to NIL. Eck/Schmeck

The Google doesn't find evidence of this extension, but it's been wrong before. Either way, I don't care about an extension, as long as it doesn't increase the buyout. I think we're down to a mere $19M after this season. Donors can stomach that to get rid of a coach paid in the top 25 in the nation, with an NIL budget in the upper third of a very rich conference, that can't stay on the field with Iowa, and is shaky against Minnesota, neither of whom spend near as much on NIL (Fleck is paid about the same, Ferentz is paid less). Say what you will about Fleck--and I do not like him--he is one of the best head football coaches the Gophers have had in a very long time (and MN isn't burning money on NIL); Ferentz is second only to Hayden Fry at Iowa since 1961, and is one of Iowa's top 3 head coaches ever (too old for me to know anything about, but by the numbers, Evashevski is either 1 or 2, depending on how much weight to give to that not-really-quite-a-national-championship (LSU)). What has Fickell done, but posted the worst three-season run since Barry Alvarez took over in 1990?

There is no extension. That is wishful thinking for many.

The only talk right now among the heavy hitters and the AD that I know of is whether or not he stays.

He needs to win 9.

9 wins does not give you a lot of wiggle room

with UCLA UCS and Iowa and only one of those at home, you got to pull out another upset and be perfect on the rest to win 9
