The transitive property has officially been busted by the Illini.

Illinois beat Rutgers, who beat Michigan State, who beat Michigan, who beat Minnesota, who beat the Illini.

To make matters worse, that was each teams only win.

What in the Hell do you do with THAT?

Treat one of them as a fluke, perhaps. But which one?

I wish you would stop linking last week's rankings, because each week mine seem to teeter on getting worse. That said:
1. Ohio St
2. Indiana
3. Northwestern
4. Wisconsin
5. Purdue
6. Iowa
The rest are irrelevant
7. Nebraska
8. Maryland
9. Minnesota
10. Michigan St
11. Michigan
12. Illinois
13. Rutgers
14. Penn St.
I can't believe I said this. My top 3 were the same. I didn't figure a team that could not practice for much of two weeks could beat Michigan. Tells us a lot about the state of Michigan football.

I agree I think you may need to throw out each of these teams 1 victory and judge them on what else they did.

ILL >  Rut > MSU > Mich > Minn > ILL

But the problem is that all of them have not done much of anything other than their 1 victory.  For now I think I am just going to put the 5 "transitives" at the bottom, which I guess means PSU defaults to 6th last..

Oh well here goes nothing.

1.  OSU
2.  Wisc
Wow, the time off did not hurt Wiscy at all.
3.  NW
Don't be fooled by all of NW's close games.  This team is good.
4.  Indy
Indiana has looked really impressive lately but the teams they have beaten have looked less and less impressive each week.
5.  Iowa
6.  Purdue
It would be nice if Purdue could find a way to play Wiscy
7.  MD
8.  Neb
9.  PSU
10.  Mich
11.  Minn
12.  ILL
13.  RUT
14.  MSU

1. Ohio State: Resting up for a tilt with the Hoosiers
2. Wisconsin: A thorough ass whooping of Michigan, and the defense looks as strong as they've ever had.  Mertz looked pretty average, and it's impossible to make any judgments given he has played two games interrupted by 21 days of COVID.  But their rushing game was back to the tune of 341 yards.  What does this team look like when they run and pass?
3. Indiana: Just another dominant performance by the Hoosiers.
4. Northwestern: Another strong display of defense and just enough offense to get by.  It's rare to find a Purdue game where neither team cracks 300 yards of offense, but that is the Northwestern special. Will it be enough for Wisconsin?
5. Purdue: Gave it their best shot, but at some point this team must figure out how to run the ball.  2 yards rushing just won't do.
6. Iowa: Morphing into a solid Iowa team.  QB play remains an issue, which is not that unusual, but you'd like to see more than 111 yards passing when you have a good crop of wideouts.
7. Maryland: I guess?  Gets real shifty around here, and I have a hard time putting any faith in Maryland.  But they have two wins.
8. Nebraska: Sure, why not.  They had fewer than 300 yards of offense, and PSU had over 500, but they get the win and PSU didn't.
9. Penn State: Winless, though not completely hopeless.  Should probably be like 2-2, but they must have pissed off the football gods in 2020.
10. Michigan: This team did nothing well against Wisconsin.  Luckily the schedule gets more friendly for a few weeks.
11. Minnesota: Just pulling teams out of a hat now.
12. Illinois: Beat Rutgers
13. Rutgers: Beat MSU
14. MSU: Beat Michigan

3.  NW
Don't be fooled by all of NW's close games.  This team is good.

Northwestern has a defense. Paddy Fischer is a standout.
