Ohio State *SHOULD* be on the above list. They have two streaks relevant here:

132 weeks from 2012-2020 is the 11th longest of all-time so just out of the top-10 listed above
100 weeks from 2020-present is the 22nd longest of all-time.

Those two are separated only by two weeks in 2020 when Ohio State was ineligible due to the B1G not yet playing during the pandemic. Prior to that Ohio State was #2 in the 2020 preseason poll and when Ohio State regained eligibility they were #6 in the September 27, 2020 poll. They were ineligible/unranked on September 13, 2020 and September 20, 2020.

If you phrase it as consecutive appearances in weeks in which the team was eligible then Ohio State's current streak is 232 which is the second longest active streak (behind only Alabama's 299 and the third longest of all time behind only the aforementioned current Alabama streak and Nebraska's all-time longest of 348.

Regarding Ohio State's current streak, if they remain continuously ranked:

In three weeks they will catch themselves (04-11) for 21st
In five weeks they will catch Alabama (91-97) for 20th
In seven weeks they will catch Clemson (14-21) and Miami, FL (99-06) for 18th
In eight weeks they will catch Kansas State (95-01) for 17th
In 12 weeks they will catch Nebraska (69-77) for 16th
In 14 weeks they will catch Michigan (98-05) for 15th
In 21 weeks they will catch Penn State (93-00) for 14th
In 24 weeks they will catch Notre Dame (87-94) for 13th
In 30 weeks they will catch USC (02-09) for 12th
In 32 weeks they will catch themselves (12-20) for 11th
In 43 weeks (about 2-1/2 years) they will catch Colorado (89-97) to get into the top-10.

Ohio State snuck back into the top-5 this week and is now tied with Alabama. The Buckeyes and Tide have each appeared in the top-5 467 times out of 1,272 AP Polls. Oklahoma (442) has also been in more than one out of three.

Notre Dame (328) and Michigan (325) have been top-five in more than one out of four AP Polls.

Nebraska (296), Texas (295), and USC (286) have each been top-5 in just less than one out of four AP Polls.

Rounding out the top-10 are Florida State (257) and Georgia (218).

Alabama also hit the 300 consecutive weeks ranked mark this week. 2nd all time behind Nebraska's 348 weeks.

and congrats, ohio state.

bama has a much tougher game this week than anticipated with what looks like a good msu team, but of those in front of bama not many have what seems to be tough games, outside of osu's game. so osu losing looks like most likely chance for bama to not get passed next week.

if bama wins this week and next, they're almost certain to be top 5. big ask, though. and it doesn't get much easier for bama either, with tenn, aTm, and lsu the next 3 following uga.
