I'm guessing Brees' best value to the program is as a recruiter

I saw that Purdue is now asking a high school team in Lafayette to represent it in the bowl game ...

Has Barry tried to strong arm himself into coaching Wisconsin's bowl game?
Fick is coaching the game, but it would be great for the King to get another win.

Calling BS.  If that was true, you'd work for ESPN

This makes me very sad.

I'm forever calling for a flag prior to the officials throwing it, the announcers mentioning it, and generally spouting statistics and records off the top of my head several seconds before they say the exact same thing, or outlining a rule about a play that just happened for Mrs. DeTiger shortly before the talking heads do it......and she's always saying I missed my calling as a football sports analyst.

Now I know that she's been insulting me to my face all this time.  Time to find a good divorce attorney.

Looks like DT Mekhi Wingo is the only D-line starter that will be playing the bowl.  The DL is already perilously thin.

This is shaping up to be quite a yawner.

Yep....yawner.

I don't know much what to take from that for either team, other than I hope Purdue's WR is okay.  Purdue was missing so much of its regular season makeup, that probably can't be counted as the same team.  Our team is so young we only had a few opt-outs.  The D-line was newish, but LSU pretty much fielded its regular team.

I could be wrong about this, but I thought I heard Sage Ryan (defender) say something to the Purdue WR who got hurt that was pretty not-good while getting up.  Obviously before he knew the guy was injured, but it doesn't matter.  If he said what I think he said, there's no place for that.  That particular level of mouthiness may be a holdover from the Orgeron era and may slowly go away, but one thing I'd like to see change in our culture is that our DBs have been mouthy for years when they make a play, and I hope that gets better with a coach bigger on discipline.  I'm fine with waving your arms, or wagging the index finger in a uh-uh, no-no kind of way, but the jawing at opposing players has been too much for our dbs for a while now.

My friend was flabergasted how often Todd Blackledge would echo my exact words during a game.  I told him that's how it is every game.

I heard this is Purdue's 3rd bowl defeat by at least 44 points.   This one tied the largest in bowl history

As Purdue's new HC was being interviewed in the booth I realized there was a sort of symetry to the Tiger's last bowl game.

Last year a historically depleted lsu team got whipped against K-State, with an interim coach.  Kelly was interviewed in the booth as his new team was taking a beating down on the field.  It was strikingly similar to when the new Boilermaker coach was speaking with the broadcast crew, watching his new depleted team getting whupped, under an interim coach.

I heard the same, as did many Purdue fans.  Yes, he said what you think he said.  Lol.

As for the game, any Purdue fan that has been paying attention should have known this was coming.

Aside from 8/10 of the best Purdue players missing, the biggest hit came from losing the coaching staff.

Despite what some may believe, acting HC Brian Brohm did not call plays as Purdue OC (except vs Iowa in 2020).  Jeff called the plays.  Acting DC Mark Hagen also never called plays as Co-DC.

So basically you had 2 guys in there calling plays that have never done so before, and they did it with only half a coaching staff, as everyone else was in Louisville.
