Nobody has to tell Whittingham how to run a football program. He'll be a stabilizing bridge and just what Michigan needs right now. Solid,no nonsense, practical

But I hope not

My only thing with Whittingham is he's been at Utah since I was a freshman in high school and I'm 46. He's going to be a in a whole new environment, and I'm not sure the structure around Michigan football is all that strong. But he's been a very solid coach for a very long time and apparently doesn't bang his assistants, so that's a win. Though I'm a little foggy on why he isn't still the coach at Utah.

he's looking for that one huge check on his way out to retirement - I'd guess the check when he's fired will be considerable

Speculation on my part, but I believe he did not like the equity deal that Utah was about to sign.
Also, I think it’s a home run higher for Michigan. He’s a culture builder and believes in super physical style of football both sides. Plus he’ll clean up the shit that’s going on there.

See.....this is what was fishy about him leaving Utah.  Not retiring, specifically, but suddenly leaving.  I knew something was amiss!

Initially he was outspoken against NIL, like Dabo.

Everyone successful wants to maintain the status quo and only changes how they do things if they must.

Fewer Samoan defensive linemen, though.
