I doubt DeBoer is realistic unless he gets bounced in the first round. They want someone in 5-10 days

Michigan already apparently unhooked the headset communications.  I wonder if there are any coaches out there who dont need a headset...

never got the DaBoer talk either. dude is already at a premier job in the SEC and is only year 2 into the tenure and in the playoff.

all this talk of DaBoer literally makes zero sense to me. it is unrealistic.

https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/47294863/michigan-begins-investigation-athletic-department

Dave: So after numerous scandals you’ve decided to open an investigation into the culture of your athletic department?

M: That’s right, Dave. A third-party investigation that will be led by a Chicago-based law firm.

Dave: The same law firm that you recently hired to investigate whether your coach was in an inappropriate relationship with his administrative specialist?

M: Correct, Dave.

Dave: The same law firm that turned up nothing between your coach and his administrative assistant until you lost to Ohio State?

M: Uh, huh.

could be something, could be nothing...but CKD has yet to sign the extension with ASU as of 30 mins ago.

would have to think if offered, he's leaving. being a coach in todays CFB landscape is all about two things: coaching in the B1G or SEC and being at a school that will commit the resources. ASU is basically a poor in a shitty inferior conference (B12) and simply put just does not have the kind of NIL resources and money for facilities that Michigan can offer him.

Michigan can offer him more money for himself and assistant pool. More money for facilities. And more money for roster management, recruiting, porthole.

Guy had to watch his star QB leave the program because they didn't have the NIL money to pay him. How attractive do you think that has to be for a coach long term? Who would want to stay put in that situation with your hands tied behind your back?

Josh Pate on the Michigan coaching search. 10 min clip, cliff notes: he expects DeBoer to say no (duh) and thinks ASU fans should be very worried about Dillingham. Pate definitely has intel on both candidates- and he is personal friends with Dillingham. Pate thinks Michigan will be a big winner when all is said and done. Kind of agree- as I have long thought Moore was a shit head coach (great OL positional coach though) and almost anyone would be an upgrade over him.

Is Michigan looking at any sanctions or other NCAA slaps on the wrist?

If yes, I can see that affecting how attractive the job is at this time.  If no, then UM is kind of a no-brainer move up from ASU.  Dependent on how much a coach just happens to like where he already is, of course.
