If we are getting into the $8 Million level to buy top HS players, I'm out.

I'll watch the Bears again. F it.
we've been there. that was reportedly Nico's package at Tennessee. he's pretty damn good. I'd say worth it.

A curious thing about NIL is that it's actually advantageous to let your competitors believe you're spending MUCH more than you actually are.
also, very true. if you're Michigan you just might want to maybe leak some false info and keep LSU shitting bricks about having to come up with $8 million from donors in a very poor state to keep your top flight QB committed and ultimately signed.

Michigan has billionaires and hundred millionaire alums/donors up the wazoo that come from every state in America who can write checks to buy players. Not sure LSU can say that same thing.

You are correct, LSU is notoriously weak at NIL.  They just don't have the breadth or depth of pockets compared to the top NIL players.  They'll still get a lot of good recruits but they're going to suffer in direct bidding wars against the top NIL schools.

College in general is dead. I'm not narrowing that down to football nor sports. The institutions sold themselves out for the almighty $. Quite candidly, I'm not sure why anyone besides athletes utilize the system. Wish I met far fewer people that have $125k in student loan debt, with a 45-50k annual income. What i'm most interested to watch in the coming years is what breaks first, the collegiate sports platform or the overall institutional platform.

$125k in student debt is light, if they have that consider them lucky. Alot of them have more, especially if they are doctors or lawyers....you're talking more like half a mil in debt or more. And student debt is notoriously hard to walk away from. you're pretty much screwed if you have it.

Wait I thought all student loans were being forgiven these days?  That's my sole plan for paying for my kids' college!

Oh trust me, I know the balances can be much higher, but I was specifically talking about the amount that have 125k and still have very mediocre income.  That being said, i've also met quite a few lawyers that have nearly a quarter mil in student loan debt and their income is far less than I expected. Money certainly isn't everything, but there's too many people that are never given themselves a chance financially and will be in financial handcuffs their entire life.

Michigan loses 4* QB commit Carter Smith tonight. Kid seemed super locked in with Michigan. Just reading the tea leaves...think this might mean the news about Bryce Underwood is legit. Holy shit. As they say....money talks, bullshit walks.

Would've liked to keep Carter Smith in the fold for depth & competition and as a developmental prospect who redshirts and maybe you really have something down the road in a couple years. But if you can actually really get Bryce Underwood, sorry kid. Bye. Bye.

Smith's dad tweeting this apparently....makes me think something is actually going down behind the scenes right now with Bryce Underwood and he's coming to Michigan. Holy shit.

Damn.  Get Smith some NIL money. Michigan has room and need for both QB recruits and then some.

He's looking at Wisconsin, Georgia, Clemson and LSU now. The father is pissed. He is NOT going to Michigan.

Only if they don’t get Bryce Underwood. If they get Bryce, doesn’t matter. That’s a trade you make 100 times out of 100 and any coach in America would as well by the way.
