The Chiefs traded up to take a cornerback at #6.

Dude better turn out to be Champ Bailey for that gambit, although they were in desperate need since the Rams took half the secondary in the offseason.

At #29, took a DT that doesn't even weigh 300 lbs.  Dude better be like greased lightning.

Ruben Bain fell all the way to #15, after mocks for months had KC taking him at #9.  And he gets to keep driving around in Florida.

The Oregon guy is sort of a Purdue guy.  That's our new reality.
Yep. And even a "legacy" guy--his two brothers played at Purdue before him.

But Purdue was a terrible team and I'm sure Oregon offered more money.

Hell, I can't even blame him. Probably no chance he'd have been a first rounder if he played on the 2025 Boiler team that finished 2-10. Of course, he might have racked up insane tackle stats since nobody else on the team could stop anyone...

With the 57th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft the Chicago Bears select C Logan Jones, University of Iowa.

That's where Auburn is at this point. 33-40 in the last six seasons since 2020, yet still developing an output of three to five players drafted each year. This year pass rusher Keldric Faulk is projected for the late-first round.
Iowa seems to get like 8 guys drafted every year off an 8-9 win team

OL, TE, DB.

Punter went in the 4th to the Bears a couple of years ago.

A Gator has been drafted in every round so far.  So there's that.

EDIT:  exactly 1 Gator was drafted in each and every round

That's got to be rare.  Kind of like hitting for a cycle.  It's not as good as having 3 first rounders or 3 HRs, but a fun statistical anomaly nonetheless.

I'd have guessed the Chiefs might have taken a flyer on the Big Ten's leading rusher instead of Deshon
The Nebraska running back became the first Husker to come off the board in the 2026 NFL Draft, selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fifth round with the 161st overall selection on Saturday.

How many players that started their careers at Wisconsin and transferred elsewhere were drafted?

I saw Dillon Thieneman (1st round, transferred to Oregon) and Max Klare (2nd round, transferred to Ohio State) for Purdue already. There are probably more but I only noticed those two.

There were a few. Yeah, get run off by Wisconsin. It's a Godsend.

CJ Williams (Stanford). I thought he would be special-ish at Wisconsin. Could have been if the Badgers had used a real offense.
