I read that he is going on medical redshirt. That's not really quitting, if true.

junior wide receiver Jaevon McQuitty and sophomore place-kicker Barret Pickering plan to retire from the game and pursue medical exemptions, the university announced. The news about Pickering's retirement actually first came to light last week. As for McQuitty, he rose to as high as No. 2 on the depth chart last season even though he finishes with only two career receptions for 14 yards.

without Spielman, the depth at WR is really bad... once again.   Who is UNL's 5th leader WR heading into spring camp?  Back up QB Vedral

Maurice Washington was officially removed from the program in early January, and two seniors (John Raridon and Pernell Jefferson) left for various reasons two weeks later. NU lost all of its key returning kickers — Barret Pickering, Matt Waldoch and Dylan Jorgensen — in the span of a few weeks. Receivers Jaevon McQuitty (retired) and Darien Chase (transferred) left, and Spielman took a personal health break. That’s a lot of change since January

NU has four scholarship receivers on hand — none more experienced than sophomore Wan’Dale Robinson — and a raft of walk-ons.

my fear is this staff has players that are either all in or not part of the club... so they leave.
