I don't recall that either... I recall a poll years ago one of the husker websites and vast majority wanted PSU due to Nebraska's history with that program.   I'm sure there were a few, but most fans wanted PSU..... that's how I remember it.  Nebraska fans still are upset about 1982.  LOL

yup, Husker fans were more upset over getting Ohio St. instead of Rutgers

the 82 game vs Joe Pa still bothers me

I was a sophomore and that still is one of my favorite teams

* Frost was asked about the team moving to the west sideline. With no fans in the stands, Frost said it was a move to help better protect the team's signals from the sidelines.

Does this mean he was concerned Penn St. was trying to steal signals?

Does he think James Franklin would know what to do with them if he did?

I think his quote among others is the exposed nature of a empty stadium,  believed he called it a barn.

One old yarn was Nebraska took the east sideline out of consideration for the visitors who wouldn't have to deal with the beating sun.  Of course thats only useful in Aug through mid October.

I too wonder who the straw man was bellyaching about PSU as a crossover.

Nebraska student-athletes have posted a 94 percent NCAA Graduation Success Rate, continuing the Huskers’ long tradition of being a national leader in the classroom. The NCAA released its GSR scores on Tuesday, with Nebraska recording its highest all student-athlete rate for the eighth consecutive year. It also marked the third straight year Nebraska has achieved a GSR of 90 percent or higher.

Nebraska’s 94 percent GSR rate for all student-athletes ranks among the Big Ten and national leaders. At the conference level, the 94 percent mark is tied for second among 14 Big Ten schools. On the national scale, Nebraska’s GSR ranks in a tie for 10th among 65 Power Five Schools, and third among public institutions at the Power Five level.

In hindsight, the B1G West schedule should have been of more concern than the crossover slate.

I thought Scott Frost would probably be the magic pill that cured Nebraska ills. It appears doubtful Nebraska will have a winning record in 2020. Rivals had Nebraska ranked 17th in recruiting in 2020, and they are at 18th on Rivals in 2021. Nebraska will probably stay the course for 2021, but it is starting to appear a bit wobbly.
Turnovers on offense, and a porous defense seem to be the issues. Any thoughts?

the QBs are the cause of the vast majority of the turnovers

either better coaching or need smarter QBs - seems simple.  Turn the ball over, grab some bench

I'm not a fan of the D-coordinator or his scheme.  I guess it works fine when the offense is clicking, putting up points in bunches with little time off the clock.

and mostly playing with a double digit lead...

the scheme and defensive philosophy are high risk, high reward.  Very aggressive with emphasis on negative plays  (TFL & sacks) and forcing turnovers.

the thought is to get the ball back quickly to give the offense more opportunities to score.

not sure this works in the Big Ten where offenses are more methodical, conservative, and limit negative plays and turnovers.  It certainly hasn't been effective yet.

The above pretty well sums it up.
UNL needs people like Mike Rozier and Roger Craig running the ball rather than Luke McCaffrey and Adrian Martinez.
Nebraska's 1st leading rusher is QB Luke McCaffrey, and its 3rd leading rusher is QB Adrian Martinez. It is good to have a QB who can use his feet, but by his appearance Luke McCaffrey does not look like the most durable man on the squad that you want rushing the ball and then trying to throw.

Collin Miller, spinal concussion. Loading him onto a stretcher and onto a gurney had a bad appearance. Out for the season, but should be okay in the long term. Collin Miller of Nebraska football dealing with spinal concussion (espn.com)
