Really Small sig
« on: July 14, 2017, 08:32:46 AM »
I've got a large (3 finger wide) gray border on this site. It causes posts and graphics to be cut off, meaning I have to scroll left and right to read the entire post.
Why is the gray bar there?

Is there a way to auto wrap text and/or resize pictures to avoid this side scrolling?

what operating system/browser are you using?

i've tried my level best to be as consistent across all of them, but.... the web is a strange place when it comes to 'standards'...

do you see adverts to the right of the screen?

if not, your ad-blocking is doing it's job, and that is why you see the gray bar..... I named that 'div' something advert-blocking software would readily recognize and did so on purpose...

if possible, can you take a screen shot and hang it here?

what i've done is give the content a higher priority than the right column- meaning the right column will slide under the content if the screen narrows instead of laying over top of it...

i don't know if this is your issue- but i discovered it while looking at various browser renditions trying to find your issue.

please keep me informed of things like this- I'll get right on them.

Yeah, I've got an ad-blocker, so I see gray bar and no advertisements.

I don't know what [member=8]TyphonInc[/member] is using (i.e. desktop or tablet, screen resolution, etc) but I'm on Windows with Chrome, 1440x1050 resolution. I don't have the issue of having to scroll the main content window.

Windows 10 64bit
Google Chrome Version 59.0.3071.115 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Odd, the page I was having the issue with now has smaller graphics. So I don't have the side scrolling any more.

Aye... images...

I've installed a package that trims images to a certain size, but allows them to inflate (in a lightbox) for viewing/details.  I bet it lagged on you and showed the images full size- which is good to know... I'll dedicate more resources to that function to try to limit that lag.

New concern:
I added my old sig graphic and it gets wicked shrunk down, is there a change I can do? Or get a new sig?
