It's Started Four Star DB Decommits From UT

No surprise here I posted earlier as to when they recruits would start decommitting or abandoning ship. I guess they or their parents are seeing what most fans and observers can but the administration can't.

Tennessee has 26 known commitments not counting the non public commitments.I would guess we have somewhere in the rage of 29-30 now.We can only sign somewhere between 22-25 this year. I would be shocked if we don't get more de-comittments as there are always multiple changes this time of year as committments look at who else we have comittments from and what their competition is. Most are looking at early playing time. The sky is not falling.....yet.

A question, teams are going to have more than the usual number of "hold overs", right?  Players with an extra year of eligibility?

So, how can they bring in the usual number of newbies if the limit is still 85?

Most upper ranked teams show about 20 commits already. Ate they going to toss current Scholly players off?

Most people think the NCAA will pass a one year waiver on scholarship totals  which is 85 .  This would not effect the number of scholarships you can sign in a single year which is 25  but that depends on your overall totals. No one really know for sure at this point.

As they are over the limit they can sign and are after other DB's who are very highly ranked, perhaps he was told to find another home

I read that he was a Top 100 player in the country.

If we are telling players of that caliber to take a walk, that explains a lot.  Although, i doubt that this is the case on this particular player.

We have no idea as to what goes on behind the scenes. There are other reasonable issues that could lead to this besides his rank.

We can speculate all we want, but very few people know what is really going on. This is before you include kids change their mind for a variety of legit and other questionable reasons.

What we do know recruits who are committed to the same school or are being recruited by the same school communicate with each other.

If something IS going on behind the scenes that causes one to leave or for what ever reason it is he leaves his friends know why.

Highly ranked recruits shy away from perennial losing programs unless its a highly rated Head Coach new to the job. Especially when the coach is on the hot seat and may not be around next year or the following one.

And commits to LSU, that says a lot.
