He can have 100 years of eligibility, for all I care.

I can’t see how playing football can be much fun for him, though.  Getting your brains bashed out repeatedly for dreadful to mediocre teams…

And if he gives us “the best chance of winning”, then our chances of winning are manifestly low.

My level of interest in the whole operation is hovering at an alarmingly low level.

What sux the most, is this time I truly believed we had turned the corner.  And brighter days were ahead.

Instead, on top of this historically dismal epoch in our nation’s history, we get a heaping helping of continued dismalness for our storied football program.

Happy days...

Just because all seniors are invited back doesn't mean JG is willing to come back. I seriously doubt that he does.

Let me ask a common sense question. What kind of coach in his right mind would tell a player who might be needed the rest of the season that he will not be welcome back next season and announce it to the press....Who in their right mind could get their panties in a wad over something like this!
There are fans....and then there are "critics". Critics seem to thrive on trivial crap like this

Call me silly but I just assumed most of you guys are adults
I just don't understand sitting around getting off by bashing college kids trying to do their best.

I could understand if they were gang bangers or corrupt politicians but college kids that are busting their butts trying to do the right thing?

It just doesn't make sense just because they don't meet some middle aged guys expectstions.

He's is not a kid he's 23 years old born Nov 14, 1997 he's old enough to vote and buy alcohol so using the excuse he's a kid doesn't cut it he's an adult and has been for quite sometime.

When I was his age I had finished my military service started my career in civilian life. I've seen friends a hell of a lot younger called YOUNG MEN who couldn't vote or buy alcohol that got killed or maimed in Vietnam.

So take off the orange colored glasses and join the real world for a change.

If he WAS needed he wouldn't but he isn't needed so any coach with a brain could see by now that JG isn't a SEC quality QB or even a FCS quality QB.

So yes they would tell him the truth and say "seek other employment elsewhere you don't have what it takes".

There are fans then there are homers and sunshine pumpers who think a coach no matter how stupid his decisions are that he's still correct.

They sound much like the liberal democrats who have their heads pumped full of their crap.

I've never bashed JG.  But you have to bash the coach who keeps telling the fans that he's the best chance for UT to win a game.  No, it's the best chance for UT to lose a game.  Harrison Bailey just proved at Auburn that he should have been playing all year.  People can say that Auburn was playing prevent D and that they had their backups in the game all they want, but Bailey stood in the pocket, read the defense and threw on target.  He had so few reps in the previous game mostly handing the ball off that we couldn't even judge him accurately.  Pruitt has been too stubborn with his insistence on playing Guarantano all year.  I said after UT's loss against Kentucky that this year should be utilized by playing Bailey so he's ready for next year and forget the record.  How much further would the Vols be now?  They will still go no better than 3 wins as it is.  In fact, there was a very good chance UT wins the game at Auburn if Pruitt had started Bailey since the Vols won every statistical category but the score and that is on two people:  Guarantano throwing a pick six in the redzone making that a 14 point swing and Cimaglia missing two field goals, one of which was a straight on 37 yarder.  As idiotic as Pruitt has been with his insistence on JG being the better practice player, even he will cut his own throat if he starts JG next game.

Pruitt has said THE TEAM thinks JG gives them the best chance to win.  I think that team is Trey Smith who Pruitt allows to get involved in the social justice BLM bull crap and Trey Smith wants JG to play QB because he's a brotha.

It has nothing to do with who gives them the best chance to win Pruitt's afraid not to play him.

The story I read is there was several factors involved. Let me try to list them. He lost a lot of time due to COVID protocols. The receivers lost a lot of time due to the same. In a very limited practice time he was off. Due to numbers and the need to get 2 deep ready as best as they could they decided he was not going to get many if any reps this year along with everyone else not on the two deep chart.  How true? Your guess is as good as mine.

This virus has affected every body different.

As much as I am down on Pruitt and his staff, I would hate to judge them on this season.

Next year though it won't take long for me to yell for his head, so to speak.

Finally, glad to see you post some again. Don't be a stranger

I read somewhere, unless I dreamed it, that he would talk to each Sr. after the season and evaluate then. I suspect he is saying some will be gone regardless.

I hope on the OL Kennedy stays and Trey (but if the money is right he, in the words of Steven Miller, needs to take the money and run). Cade has potential but so far I do not see he is ready,
