World's Largest Outdoor Whatever it is
« on: October 28, 2019, 04:05:09 AM »
I guess no one drinks any more, cocktails or otherwise.  The term "Cocktail" is a bit bizarre anyway, reminds me of that sugary canned fruit concoction.

Both teams have pretty good defenses.  The UGA offense has gone into hiding of late, I think in large part because their young WRs cannot get open.  USCe used press coverage and pressure and nobody got very open against USCe, and UF has better defenders.  I was almost shocked to see the line, maybe UGA fans bet more than UF fans.  If I were betting, I'd definitely take UF here and the points (6-7).  IN fact, I think UF wins comfortably, something like 27-16.  AS usual, turn overs could be decisive, and as usual, the score might not indicate the closeness, or lack thereof, of the game.  I don't know if this matchup generates more upsets than others, but it seems like it to me, both sides have at times knocked the other off a loftier perch.

In this case, UF is ranked higher, but is the dog, go figure.  I think UGA ends up 9-3 this season, a disappointment for sure, and makes the Citrus Bowl against say Michigan, which could be a good game.

Congrats to OAM on the victory.

Sandbagger.

I'll be watching this one at the lake house of a huge UGA fan.  I can't tell whether he really wanted me over to watch the game, or whether he just wanted to impress me that he has a lake house.

Don't care.  Sam Rayburn lake is nice this time of year and we're off Saturday.  Might do some grilling.

Is this the game UGA finally allows a rushing TD?  No TDs allowed on the ground is pretty awesome after 7 games.

Probably not...Florida only runs to keep the defense from lining up in a 5-2.

I think UGA is closer to the preseason squad than the one that lost to USCe.  They're favored for a reason.  However, if the DEs for Florida are healthy, this should be an even matchup.

I'm just stoked that Florida is a top 10 team again, playing for something important in November.

If you press the UGA WRs, they won't get open (much).  Then blitz Fromm and get him dancing.  Stuff the run game as much as possible.  Recipe.

As noted, last year's game was closer than the score indicated.  The TO margin was 3-0 favoring UGA.

Georgia finished with 189 yards rushing, including 80 in the fourth quarter. Florida had 170 on the ground. It's the 13th consecutive year that the team with more rushing yards won the game.

Georgia has about a 99% chance to rush for more yards, but Florida doesn't expect to win that battle and play-calls accordingly.

Yeah, the objective is not to get more rushing yards.  That would be just a product of getting ahead by a decent amount and running clock often as not.

It's a silly statistic really IMHO.

I'd probably run the ball on every down were I UGA, but I'm olde schule.

They did that against Kentucky.

I don't have a literal "Gator Hater" t-shirt, but if I wear my normal LSU gear Saturday, does that pretty much count?

Forget grilling.  Way too cold for that.  Saturday is looking to be gumbo weather.

Whoever wins the turnover battle will likely get the W, if either side does.
