It would be ironic indeed if NIL turns out to be a negative for teams practicing it at a high level, and it's possible it could.  Locker room factions develop and the team chemistry goes rancid.

I fear that is what is happening right now.  I don't think A&M has ever had that much talent on-hand at one time, there may be a schisim between the older players with little NIL and the new guys with a truckload.  I would think that there would be some kind of evening out policy, but I have no clue how any of that works.  Especially for the guys who are getting NIL money but not really earning it like Bryce Young.  I don't really know of any other high profile NIL guys that will appear in commercials.  I think most of the NIL is being fed for interviews, autographs, etc.

Well A&M is having its SEC home opener today. That’s right, we’ve not played at home since mid September.

Word is Connor Weigman will start. Guess we’ll see what he’s got.

I heard that from the announcers.  That is a very odd schedule....I don't think I've ever seen a team go so long without a conference home game, or start them so late in the season.

Home/away matters more in college....might that have anything to do with the Aggies struggles lately?

Maybe a little.  Considering that we lost all 4 games in tight contests you can't say it didn't make any difference.

Part of the odd schedule is the stupid Southwest Classic that our former AD Dollar Bill Byrne set-up with Arkansas and we haven't played it out yet.  So we have one neutral site game.  The rest is just quirks of the schedule.

Weigman played well, not great, but certainly head and shoulders above King.  I wish they had played up-tempo all game.

You wouldn't believe it but A&M had I think I read 13 stops on 3rd down vs Ole Miss.  The problem is that they went for it on 4th and got it. Once questionably at their ~15 yard line.  Replays showed we probably stopped it short, but the refs couldn't overturn it.
