Hard to believe we've played away that much already at this point in the season.  This weekend starts a mostly second-half-of-season home stand for LSU, with @Alabama being the only remaining away game.

And it starts with the Tiger Bowl!

Hey Auburn.....you suck! :)

Except for the top 2, all these games could go either way obviously.  A lot of unpredictable teams up there.

LSU is a rusted-out left-over WWII landmine that has been declared defunct and safe by shady authorities you can't trust, and you can still hear ticking if you lean in close.  But don't lean in close.

If any of you are betting people, stay the hell away from that team this year.

That offense is good enough to single-handedly beat Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Michigan, all of them, and I mean it.

That defense is bad enough to lose to Army, Ga. Southern, and of course Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Michigan, all of them, and I mean it.

Everything from 4-8 to 10-2 is on the table.

I appreciate that you think LSU can hold AU to 17 points.

In the first quarter, you're probably correct.

I think the question for that game is, will LSU score 35+ on AU?  'Cuz the defense probably can't keep the Barn under that.

Everything from 4-8 to 10-2 is on the table.

The key each week will be if an opponent's pass rush can overwhelm LSU's protection.  Most obvious candidates are Texas A&M and Alabama, but you never know when a bad matchup or a bad day at the office is coming.  If that happens and LSU struggles to move the ball, they lose because the defense can't carry the day in a single game, no matter how "inferior" the team.  If Daniels has some time and the occasional escape lane, it's game on and the offense will scramble for the finish line hanging on for dear life, hoping to outrace the other team's offense.

The way I see it, LSU's O-line and protection schemes have to hold up in order to achieve coin-flip status.  If a defensive front can wreck that, there's not much path to victory.  Nothing to do now but see how it pans out every week.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but if the defense could hold opponents to "only" a TD and a FG per quarter, this team would have a reasonable shot to beat just about anyone.  Unfortunately, that "if" seems far-fetched.

UF  26  USCe  24

UK  24  Mizzou 20

I don't know what the scores will be, but those look like the two most interesting conference games this weekend.

Elsewhere, I'm looking forward to Oregon @ U-Dubb and, for the first time in a while, USC @ Notre Dame.

You need to pick me up for the next week's games as I'll be out of town a bit.

Cincy got Florida by 2 right, just didn't see all the offense happening.

I love that UK has lost its past 2 games after beating us.  They blew their wad on beating the Mighty Gators.

They've been blowing their wad on Florida a lot lately.

UK isn't built to keep up with teams like UGA and Missouri.  If Florida executed better they wouldn't have won that either.

I got A&M/UT wrong, I picked the Ags to win close.

Beck is slowly checking the boxes on the progression to becoming a top QB.  With Bowers healthy, this could be a very good offense by year's end.  I'm starting to buy what Kirby was selling pre-season about how this defense isn't the same as the past couple years.

Arkansas' super-power is they can play just about anyone close.  Bama's superpower is even though Milroe is still a sub-par QB, he's suddenly pretty awesome at deep balls.

Did not watch UF/USC....score looks like it was entertaining tho.

Missouri/UK....kinda how I thought.....I think....can't honestly remember who I liked in that game.

How bad are Auburn's and MSU's offenses that they can't ring up scores on LSU's defense?  I'm starting to believe Aaron Murray when he says LSU's OL is the best in the conference.  Even short a starting RT, they acquitted themselves well vs. a pretty good AU front.

Florida @ Carolina was back-and-forth and super fun.  A huge departure as the past several meetings were home-team blowouts.
