Just wondering.

Obviously a lot of "us" watch on TV depending on what other games are on at the time.

It would not appear at this time to be a very compelling matchup, but Vol fans will travel I suspect fairly well.

The 2012 match up of ut and NCSU was somewhat understandable because Gary Stokan, who runs the show, is an NCSU grad. This one just shows how difficult it is going to be for any of them to have a marquee game in the future. The schools most in demand, for the most part, are going to H/H series.

The Miami game this year is Bama's last of the neutral site games. The failure of Orlando and Atlanta to come up with no better opposition than Louisville and Duke in 2018 and 2019 ended it for Bama. Miami-Alabama was contracted in 2017.

I suspect the "preseason bowls" will still get decent matchups.  UGA-Clemson is one example this year.  There could be more of something like Auburn-UNC, teams of interest but probably not elite that will draw fans and eyeballs.  The money is there, if what I read is correct.  UGA is still playing, though after this run they are also moving to H&H.

One thing about these "bowl games" is by then 'we" are starved for CFB and will watch almost anything.

And I view them as preseason bowl games in effect.

They would be much more attractive and the schools more receptive of them if they were treated like Bowls, as they were in the beginning, with the game not counting toward the regular season maximum of games. For example: Bama's game with tOSU in the 1986 Kick-off Classic was an extra game for both.

I think the main attraction is $$$$, of course.

If the major programs step away from them, they will have to reach down obviously.

Bama and UGA appear to be stepping away in the future.
