Vegas Over/Unders

Step right up, make your picks!  If you think it's a push, then say so.  There's no penalty for prudence here.

8 Alabama
7 Texas A&M
6.5 Auburn
6.5 LSU
4 Ole Miss
4 Miss St
1.5 Arkansas
-------
7.5 Florida
7.5 Georgia
5.5 Tennessee
5 Kentucky
3.5 Carolina
2.5 Missouri
1 Vanderbilt

What say you?

They look about right to me, maybe the Vols at 5.5 is a bit optimistic.  I'd take that under.

I'd take the over on Mizzou and Kentucky.  I'd take the over for UGA, too.

I think in a vacuum, LSU is falling off a cliff this year, BUT their schedule is SO favorable.  They don't play 2 above-average teams in consecutive weeks the whole season.  Not once.

A&M and Kentucky get the misfortune of playing Alabama and Florida in consecutive weeks.

A lot depends on schedule, as you note, and of course somebody will turn out to be much better/worse than expected.  But no team can fatten up on Georgia State this year.

Georgia is somewhere between being rather good and excellent, and it hinges on their offense (duh) and QB.  That's simply an unknowable.

I looked at Tennessee and they have five games that they should be favored in. They should be able to beat Missouri, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, and Arkansas. They can probably pick up one more from Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Florida and Texas A&M. I think they will beat Florida or A&M. So six wins is attainable.

LSU has six lay ups including starting the year with three cream puffs for building momentum . They should easily beat Missouri, Ole Miss, Miss State, Arkansas, and Vanderbilt. They should be able to pick up at least one more victory from Florida, Auburn, Alabama and A&M. Seven wins is reasonable.

"We" all tend to count wins that should happen, but they sometimes don't.  I had South Carolina down in the W column last year obviously.  Duh.

This is especially true if a team is in the "slightly better than average" group, as an average or below average team can upset them, and it becomes probable when you have 4-5-6 of those games.

I view Alabama as the team least likely to be upset by a "South Carolina" because of recent history.

Florida's defense has been crap today, BUT I'm not overly concerned.  We're playing EVERYBODY - the coaches are seeing who's a live-game contributor and who isn't.

I think we'll see this around the conference - instead of a "depth game" being up 40 points vs Directional U, it'll be up 17 points vs a conference foe.

Who else had LSU falling off a cliff this year?

Not I, I figured they be pretty decent, not great, maybe 73- or 8-2.  Not any more.

Who has Miss State being this threatening?

They're only threatening if LSU doesn't stink.

LSU has basically had a 'top 2/3 of the program' overhaul.  Coordinators gone.  Seniors gone.  A bunch of juniors gone.  AND opt-outs by all-americans.  AND Stingley getting sick the day of.

I don't think any program would have won that game yesterday.

Is it Mullen vs Pruitt or the two teams they inherited?
