After LSU's and A&M's losses last week, I'm wondering if ABC is wishing they'd flipped the UT-UT game and the TAMU-LSU game start times...

I'm sure they wished they could switch the game time now.  Knoxville is (and has been) up in arms about it since the announcement of a nooner way back when.

Even the 2:30 slot would be much more preferable.  Apparently the networks thought Chokelahoma was going to be good as well.

To be fair, no one really knew what to make of TN, with a freshman QB, and coming off a mediocre season.  Guess what?  I still don't know what to make of TN.

For ABC/Disney 11 AM is the next most preferable timeslot after primetime, they consider 11 AM to be a "national" game while  2:30 is for regional games. 

They considered this past week's UGA curb stomping of Arky "national", and Bama / FSU "regional" ?  Interesting choice.

I've read the same -- competing with FOX Big Noon.  I guess in week 2 the TAM/Az St. game fit the bill.

Anyway, I don't like it.  The SEC for 25 years had their big game at 2:30, and I came to love that slot.  CBS royally screwed the pooch letting the SEC get away.

20+ years ago it was opposite, for ABC the 11 AM game was regional and the 2:30 game was national.  Also, primetime games were a lot less common.

Presumably they did a lot of research to figure out what times people were more likely to tune-in.  Not sure I get it but the differences can be millions of viewers and hundreds of millions of dollars so I guess they know what they're doing.

Definitely agree I enjoyed the CBS bigtime SEC broadcast at 2:30, I always looked forward to that.
