Also meant to add that A&M can never be counted on to be an auto-W for UT, especially at Kyle Field.  Like OU, that's one of those games where the record doesn't always mean what it ought to mean.

i.e., it's possible A&M could be an easy game for LSU and simultaneously be a difficult/tricky game for UT.

Yup, all true.  Even if Texas and LSU are identically good teams this year, the Longhorns almost certainly won't find it as easy to beat the Ags in College Station, as the Tigers did in Baton Rouge.

It's also an appreciable difference in time.  We got them early in the season....there's a chance A&M could turn it around by season's end.  Some teams get better throughout a season.....others sometimes seem to fall off a cliff.

I'm not happy about going to Tennessee to end the year, we've hardly ever beaten the Vols....ever.....I'm hoping they're in that latter category, not the former :)

Our record vs UT over the last 30 years is horrendous, both home and away.

Squandered a golden opportunity in both 24 and 25 to win and play for the SEC, blew them both.

Wins vs UT in 97, 99, ,06, 07,’10.

obviously there was a gap in play, but that’s the list.

And BTW, many times in that stretch we were favored to win. It wasn’t always a case of us sucking, but we were definitely horrible in the early to mid 2000’s.

Horns certainly overachieved in herp-derping their way into a win in College Station in 2011.  Ags were definitely the better team that year.

I thought the Horns were going to blow the Aggies off the field in 2005.  In comes a backup QB and I'm thinking "it will be even worse."

That silly Aggie squad pressed the Horns hard, from what I recall.  That backup QB came in and started running the option, and the Longhorns defense had trouble adjusting.

Coincidentally -- one of the few plays that Tennessee ran that actually worked against the Horns on Saturday.

It's a very short list.

I’m not 100% remembering the final score but I don’t recall it being a close game. Maybe 20-30 or something.
I think our regular QB, Reggie McNeil was out ( dude had glass ankles) and Stephen McGee stepped on.

McGee won 2/3, winning in 2006 and 2007. Upsets both games. I don’t recall him playing a 4th game.

I'm almost certain Florida loses to Mizzou on Saturday.
A - we always suck on the road there
B - Florida has had so much sunshine blown up their asses, that there's no way they still play with a chip on their shoulders.  I'm really pessimistic about this game.  When the whole world is seemingly on board with your upstart team, that's when I get nervous.

I get that, but OTOH, defense and running game tend to travel.  I won't be surprised if Mizzou wins, but I'm not expecting it.

Horns won 40-29, in a game where Texas was expected to dominate and yet the Ags led in both the 2nd and 3rd quarters, and Vince Young only went 13/24 for 1TD and 1 INT.  Each team had 4 turnovers, it was kind of an ugly mess but hard-fought rivalry games often are.

LSU is a tale of two quarters so far.

In the first quarter, LSU has either thrown an interception or gone 3-and-out on every opening drive.  Have averaged less than a TD in Q1s (if you're checking the points scored in Q1s divided by number of games, I'm subtracting a TD the defense scored on a pick-6, that's how I'm getting less than 7).  Although they scored a TD on the second drive against A&M, 3 of the first 4 drives were 3-and-out.  Since neither offense could do much, I think all 4 of those possessions were in the first quarter.

In the third quarter LSU has averaged 15.5 pts, outscoring opponents 62-3.

Whatever pixie dust they're coming up with out of halftime, I wish they'd find a stash for the opening.  Falling behind to Ole Miss 17-0 at the jump was devastating.  There's a lot more teams coming up that won't let us off the mat if we keep getting pinned like that.
