SEC Bowl Games
« on: December 09, 2019, 05:02:55 AM »
Gator:  Tennessee vs Indiana

Outback:  Minnesota vs Auburn

Citrus:  Michigan vs Alabama

Belk:  Va Tech vs Kentucky

Music Nash Vegas:  Louisville vs Miss State

Texas:  Texas A&M vs Okie St

Sugar:  UGA - Baylor

Orange:  UVA - Florida

Peach:  Oklahoma - LSU

Which of these has some interest level for you personally (aside from your team)?

Michigan-Bama has history, but I don't know if either team is happy to be there.  Auburn-Minnesota is interesting.

The rest to me are pretty boring.

The playoffs are really all that are going to matter.  Alabama will probably be sitting half their team to get ready for the draft.  UGA is likely in the same position.  Virginia doesn't belong anywhere near the Orange bowl.

I think VT v UK will be a great game. aTm and Okie State could be a thriller, as well.

honestly i was surprised to see both MSU and UL were both bowl eligible..... but it may make a good game all the same.

i also think Baylor is a better team than folks realize, though they ought not be much comp for UGA.

what do y'all think the o/u will be for the Peach Bowl?  600 points perhaps? I can promise there will be 600 yards... maybe on both sides..

I put into italics above my projected winners.  I think these are some tough picks.

I'll be interested to see if UGA shows up this time.  I don't think they did last year vs Texas.
Indiana fans should travel well, since they rarely go to a bowl.  I wonder how quickly they'll get sick of hearing Rocky Top.
Auburn and Alabama may both curb-stomp UM and UM.  I wouldn't bet on it, but I think they're good enough to.

I would be surprised if our starting LT Andrew Thomas and D'Andre Swift play. Could see a few more opt out.

Bama will roll Michigan, probably badly.
Auburn should beat Minnesota, but.....will Derrick Brown and Marlon Davidson play?

Looks like Swift is coming back for UGA.

Coming back as in playing his senior year?  I doubt it seriously.  He's said to be an upper level Day One pick.

Eh, misleading articles, yay.  Well he did correct his own AD.  His dad says he's coming back.
We'll see.

My optimism for the Sugar Bowl is really low.  At least Fromm will play.
Some are hurt, some didn't come to play school, a few others for smoking the left handers and others because of the draft.
But this is a lot of contributors (15) won't be available.

List of guys out for Sugar Bowl:

Offense:
-Andrew Thomas starting LT
-Isaiah Wilson Starting RT
-Ben Cleveland starting RG
-D'Andre Swift 1st team RB (would be surprised if he plays much if at all) (1216 yds rushing, 7      TD's, 24 receptions, 216 yds, 1 TD)
-Brian Herrien 2nd team RB-490 yds, 6 TD, 16 receptions, 1 TD
-Lawrence Cager WR (injury) 33 rec, 476 yds, 4 TDS on the season.
-Dominick Blaylock-WR 18 rec, 310 yds 5 TD's on the season) injured in SECCG
-Kearis Jackson WR-injury, may play, but who knows.
Defense
-JR Reed (injury)  54 Tackles, 1 INT, 8 passes defended. started all 13 games. (foot injury)
-Divaad Wilson (Injury)
-Tyler Clark  starting DL 2nd team all SEC-26 tackels, 2.5 sacks, 8TFL
-Quay Walker LB-Played in all 13 games, making 23 tackles, 2.5 sacks.
-Justin Young DL, Played in nine games, making six tackles
-Walter Grant LB, Played in 12 of 13 games last year with three starts.
-Tyrique McGhee--DB- Played in nine games
