2021 SEC Recruiting
« on: February 06, 2021, 07:20:29 PM »
By National Ranking:
1 - Alabama (best-rated class ever (last 20 years)
3 - Georgia
4 - LSU
7 - A&M
13 - Florida
16 - Tennessee
18 - Ole Miss
24 - Arkansas
25 - Miss State
27 - Auburn
29 - Mizzou
33 - Kentucky
48 - Vandy
78 - Carolina.........30 spots behind Vandy.....yes, there are only 65 P5 programs....
.
Recruiting rankings don't include transfers (either coming in or going out).
.
Auburn really seems to have suffered with the HC change.  Tennessee not so much.  Once their penalties are known, next year's class may suffer (along with this year's transfers leaving).  Florida needs to do better, but has brought in 5 former 5* transfers the past 2 years.
South Carolina is going back to their 1-10 days, it seems, unless Beamer is the second-coming of his pappy.
Thoughts?

The USCe figure is a surprise for sure.  I would have guessed 30-40 range.  Tenn is a surprise the other way, I would have guessed 20-25.

Florida is lower than I would have guessed.  A&M seems to have it going on, but whether that is enough to beat Bama ...

UGA fans are tired of "winning" recruiting and losing on the field.

Programs Trending Up - A&M, Arkansas, Ole Miss

Trending down - USCe, Auburn

I just looked at Tennessee's amazingly good number 16 rated recruiting class. It contains nine 4 star players which is good for a team in transition. What will kill Tennessee this year appears to me to be the transfer portal. It seems many of their better players including Morris, Tioto, and Gray have opted out.

This has got to be one of Ole Miss' best, non-cheating classes at 18.

South Carolina, as noted, is the real news here.  They may not be headed to 1-11 seasons, but they may struggle to make bowl games for a while.  Getting to 6-6 is really not THAT tough, 3 pastries OOC and 3 SEC wins.  But they could be the team other SEC teams use to get to 6-6, like Vandy.

I think if the Vols get a "good (not great) coach" they should get to 8-9 wins most years, ten on occasion.

Then they will fire that good coach and hire "Butch Jones" again.
