Four Big 12 Teams Represented in Top 25 Poll

Four Big 12 programs were represented in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 after the second week of play.

Oklahoma State enters the national rankings for the first time this season at No. 14 after defeating then-ranked No. 5 Florida 1-0 in double overtime. Marlo Zoller’s golden gold in the 103rd minute gave OSU its first win over a top-five ranked team since Oct. 14, 2007. The Cowgirls’ victory was also the program’s first-ever over Florida, after dropping the first four meetings.

Kansas checks in at No. 19 after a 3-0 win over Oregon State last Friday, giving the team their first 3-0-0 start to a season since 2014. The Jayhawks ended the weekend with a 1-1 draw against Oregon.

Texas Tech also joins the national rankings for the first time this season at No. 21. The Red Raiders presently lead the Big 12 with a 4-0 record after picking up victories against San Diego State (2-1) and Abilene Christian (1-0) last week.

Texas earned the No. 23 spot after finishing the week with a 1-1 tie against then-ranked No. 4 North Carolina and a thrilling 2-1 win against then-ranked No. 23 UCF in double overtime.

Additionally Baylor, Kansas State, TCU and West Virginia received votes in the poll.
