For the third week of the 2019 soccer season, Haley Berg (Texas), Kim Rodriguez (Oklahoma State) and Grace Collins (TCU) received Big 12 weekly award honors.
Berg garnered Offensive Player of the Week honors after she led the Conference with eight points over the weekend, including three goals and two assists in UT’s two victories. The junior forward is now tied for the team high with 10 points in 2019.
Rodriguez was named Defensive Player of the Week after anchoring the Cowgirls’ back line in two shutout wins, playing all 180 minutes and holding opponents to just 10 shots, only four on goal. OSU remains the only undefeated Big 12 team and has allowed a conference-low two goals this season.
Collins became the second consecutive Horned Frog to earn the Freshman of the Week title after she netted two goals for TCU and added an assist. She led all Big 12 freshmen with five points over the weekend.
This is the third-career weekly honor for Berg, as she was twice named Freshman of the Week in 2017. Rodriguez earns her second-career weekly accolade, after previously being named Freshman of the Week in 2017. Collins is a first-time winner.
TCU now leads all Big 12 teams with three weekly honors this year, while OSU tallies two and UT earns its first.
